It seems a recent thread of mine has been erased entirely. Is that a common admin action here? I thought it was a good thread, civil and full of good comments all around. Sorry if it offended someone.

My point wasn't actually that I don't care about God--I care quite a bit about Goodness and joy, and love and things like that which, if there is a God, surely (hopefully??) must be of Him. I've just decided that it isn't for me to determine among the sea of faces which one is actually God's. And, in coming to believe the impossibility of my doing that in any reliable way, I have concluded that that isn't what God, if there is one, expects of me. God may expect something of me, just not that. The experience has been enlightening.

I was going to pop back in to that old thread to respond to some interesting comments made a week or so ago by hellohellohi, but alas the whole thread was wiped clean off the board. Anyway thanks, hhh, I read through them with interest and intended to respond.

Whenever you post on these threads, try to make sure you don't contradict yourself or change positions.

Haha! Touche... I guess I'm a walking contradiction.

I care about goodness, joy, love, etc., and IF they're of god then by extension I care about God. It will be nice if there is a good and loving god (it'll be better if there's no god than if there's one like some gods I hear about).

But! My belief in the impossibility of reliably answering the question, "Does God exist?" (and other related questions) has led me to conclude that belief in God is not what God, IF there is one, requires of me. Furthermore, my belief that beliefs cannot be chosen consciously strengthens that conclusion. IMHO.

But anyway, is that common here, for whole threads to be swallowed up and deleted?

I have had threads disappear, too. The moderators here don't just close a thread they deem inappropriate, they delete it entirely. They reserve the right to do so in the TOS, so it does no good to complain.

Though why discussing the history of the Trinity concept is inappropriate on a "Trinitarian website," I still don't understand....

When a thread is removed a notice is sent via PM regarding the decision.

If you didn't get a PM then assume the thread is still there. Click on your name in this thread and look through your 100 recent posts to find it and then subscribe to it so you'll find it easier.

The thread does seem to be gone, and I don't see a PM. However, it was all cleared up in this thread. Thanks.
