I just want to thank all of my Calvinistic brothers out there for their prayers and encouragement. Sometimes I feel so alone in knowing the Sovereignty of God. Keep preaching and teaching the truth in love.

Heh, i hear ya brother, I used to attend a study group for 10 years at a local Baptist church, the leader of which was convinced Calvinists had horns and were straight out of the lower regions of hell. This was before the Lord opened my eyes to the truth about Grace. He used to warn us to stay from that "damnable heresy" as he calls it (he's in his late 80's now). I have not seen him in close to 10 yrs, which is a good thing 'cuz the news of my joining the dark side would kill him.

Is there a better term than Calvinism? I see it is the center of the Bible, but Calvin was a sinful man like Jerry Falwell or Billy Graham. God is sovereign, we are His instruments.

I agree, saying you are a calvinist sounds like you put your faith in calvin instead of Christ. I use reform more than anything, just as a base of reference, though just calling it "The truth" would be more precise.

But aren't there other things that go along with reformed theology? Like paedo baptism, post trib rapture or am I wrong? I have only studied the Bible and I am slightly familiar with theological forms.

Infant baptism is not practiced by Reformed Baptists (such as CH Spurgeon - and a number of of current day Reformed Southern Baptist churches). I'm not even sure that even a majority subscribes to post-trib but I know that not all do. Here's an interesting link about the subject on the Reformed SBC site.

Reformed SBC site Thanks Eutychus! Although this is not an easy reference tool, I have bookmarked it for future reference. Do Reformed Baptists believe that the elect have replaced Israel completely? I have heard that Covenant Churches might teach this Replacement Theology.
