Is there a portal for these forums that is tailored for use with a SMALL screen? I just got a PDA - HP ipaq and the christianity.com frames take FOREVER to load.

It may not be your PDA. I use the CCM Magazine portal, and for the past few weeks it's been taking as long as 45 seconds to load a page on a T1 line. I personally think it's the banner ads that slow the site down. Too bad I can't block them.

I have trouble with crosswalk.com on a 15" LCD monitor. There's way too much going on, especially those sidebars on both sides of the screen plus the banner ads across the top. CCM is much cleaner, but like I said, sometimes it's slower than molasses in January.

the ones that works best for me are I believe and the singing news. I discovered them after someone sent links that were not relative, and I had to sign in through these portals.

I use FaithCommunityNetwork because it's the same color as the old CW and it's easier on the eyes. Plus, everything is spaced properly and it doesn't have all the busy-ness of CW. Is there a Firefox for PDA? Because then you could block the ads.

I don't have a pda but are you using IE? Try Opera Mini, that's what a lot of the cell phones use. Plus this website is slow a lot so I can just imagine it on a wireless pda or cell phone.

Can your PDA run Firefox with AdBlock Plus (free browser, free extension)?

No it is an older version of Win CE and limited in memory (seemingly) so I do not want to load up firefox on it.

I have not tried faithcommunity network portal. I should see how that works.

If this is directed at me, if I block ads it also blocks the reply boxes and PM alerts.

I noticed the same thing a few months ago on my desktop and laptop. I had gone to crosswalk.com forever--and now go to crossdaily.com. I recall noticing a definite quicker page loading time. Not sure if that would work for you or not.
