do you ever feel like sometimes you are being pulled a 100 different ways when your in church? like i set up the coffee at my church and then i go to puppets and then i have like 2hrs b4 i have to go back to church for youth group!! its like crazy the day becomes so long! anyway i have stoped going to my churches youth group for a few reasons 1 I'm not sure i agree theologically with my leader/ his philosophy of the way a youth group should be run basically he does not feel the need to teach and when he does teach which is not vary often it is usually a proof text in other word lots of opinion and not enough scripture 2 the people there don't seem to care about learning and growing in Gods word (partly b/c Gods word isn't being taught) and when i have talked to them about the bible and God and tried to answer there questions they are turned off by that cuz they perceive me as some kinda smart know it all :) to days sermon was vary good by one of our pastors he talk about speaking the truth with grace and loving other people the only problem is How how do you be pulled 100 different ways in church and still find the Sabbaths day rest? (i don't think you can which is why i felt the need to give up some of the ministry opportunities) and how do you go to a youth group were people don't care how are you supposed to speak the truth with grace when you know the people dont care (im kinda feeling a little of Jerimiah right now anyone els getting the same vibe?) grace and peace to you all NESS<><

Ness~ Stop allowing yourself to be pulled 100 different ways. How are you profiting God in this manner? It actually sounds like 'works' on your part. We are saved by grace and not anything we can do on our own. Why don't you take a breather and allow God to lead you into what He would like to see you do. Like maybe including a different church. an inactive church is like a dead one. All you are left with is pew warmers or the frozen chosen. I am not capable of judging, but it seems apparent that they are not interested in growth, but more interested in comfort. My vote is to move one and find a church that is active and will appreciate your contributions. Blessings

Just remember - it's not a sin to say "no" when someone asks you to do something that would put too much on your plate. And if you already have too much on your plate, then find ways to say "Sorry, I have to stop" to some of them. God did not design us for stress.

So just apply that to your situation. always choose sitting at Jesus feet, rather than all these other activities.

It is much less frequent now. I learned that BUSY is Being Under Satan's Yoke. And that is not where He wants us! The church has adopted many worldly ways and attitudes. Pray for the church. And bow out of many of the activities. It is not about doing. It is all about being, His being, our being conformed to His image. And that does not happen in a hurry up, get busy, stay busy, never sit down kind of life. It happens in the quiet. It happens as we draw apart. I happens as we are satisfied in Him. And then the world may hear.
