This is connected to something Fritz said was a known bug but it's a variation on the theme. I didn't log out but was idle in CW for about half an hour. I went to refresh my subscriptions and suddenly, all the threads that had new messages in them half an hour before now showed that there were no new messages. And I hadn't logged out either (though that's another bug--I HAVE been logged out against my will when idle for a while).

I experience that one as well. My computer shut off randomly and I got back on and all the messages I had read were marked new again.

It probably is connected with them trying to fix the known bug. Stuff is probably being reset.

Is the Active User count on the home forum page wacky?

It says 8,000 something active users but we only have about 1000 registered?

Uh oh - I just went back to the forum home to verify, and either it has been fixed or it reset itself. Never mind. [8|]

christsstar -> RE: Bug Report (4/14/2005 11:59:23 PM)

just out of curiosity ... what was the bug with the ratings system? And is it gone for good?

stateofgrace -> RE: Bug Report (4/15/2005 9:07:11 AM)

I'd just like to know why I'm back to being a "junior member" again even with 71 posts....

The bug has reportedly been fixed, but if you have over 50 posts, you should be a regular member. I see quite a few people actually in the same boat. Now that you've posted, and I've given a heads up to Fritz behind the scenes, it's back on the list apparently. :-/

magdaleine -> RE: Bug Report (4/28/2005 12:29:02 PM)

I have all my subscriptions checked to receive e-mail notification when there's a new post to a thread. But since yesterday at some point, whenever I post to such a thread, the e-mail notification gets turned off automatically. That shouldn't be and it's VERY frustrating! (And no, I'm not unchecking the "Notify me via e-mail when someone replies" box in the reply.)

Fritzpw_Admin -> RE: Bug Report (4/28/2005 1:30:07 PM)

The system has been set so that when one subscribes to a thread, even automatically, it has the email option unchecked as the default.

This is because the majority of individuals who subscribe to threads do not wish to receive email notifications.

Therefore, if one wishes to recieve the email notification they will need to go into My Subscriptions and place a check to receive the email.

magdaleine -> RE: Bug Report (4/28/2005 1:59:24 PM)

Fritz, I have all my subscriptions checked. I post in a subscription that is checked to receive e-mail and then, once I've posted, that check mark disappears. I know, because I've been going in to check. I was wondering why I wasn't getting e-mails to threads I've been subscribed to AND which have been checked to get e-mails.

Fritzpw_Admin -> RE: Bug Report (4/28/2005 2:03:50 PM)

So when you post in the subscribed thread it changes its status in your My Subscriptions to unchecked?

christsstar -> RE: Bug Report (4/28/2005 2:04:57 PM)

well I'm confused now.

I have auto-subscribe checked in my profile and by default the e-mail me box is checked.
Are you saying it shouldn't be checked?

Fritzpw_Admin -> RE: Bug Report (4/28/2005 2:07:28 PM)

christstar, I'm am asking questions of someone else who is attempting to identify a bug.

I'm not saying anything.

magdaleine -> RE: Bug Report (4/28/2005 2:07:30 PM)

Yes, Fritz. That's what's happening.

Fritzpw_Admin -> RE: Bug Report (4/28/2005 2:11:06 PM)

Ok magdaleine, I'll add it to the known bugs list.

I realize that; I was trying to understand what you said about how it should work.

magdaleine -> RE: Bug Report (4/28/2005 2:15:48 PM)

Thanks, Fritz. It's really annoying to go check the unchecked box in My Subscriptions every time I post. Sigh.

If you have auto-subscribe checked in your profile then any time you post in a thread you should be subscribed to that thread. However, your My Subscriptions should list the title with the email notification box unchecked.

thank you. I understand now

magdaleine -> RE: Bug Report (4/28/2005 9:00:10 PM)

I'm thinking this must be a bug. I'm logged into CW, reading and posting and suddenly I go to post and I find that I can't. When I go to find out why, I discover I'm no longer logged in. I shouldn't be logged out when I'm logged in and active in the threads, should I?

yes, that has happened to me to. Apparently the 24 hour log in will log you out at the end of that time. It happens about the same time of day for me.

magdaleine -> RE: Bug Report (4/28/2005 9:23:31 PM)

It's happened to me several times today.

XianJedi -> RE: Bug Report (5/1/2005 2:10:15 PM)

Doesn't seem serious, but -

When in a forum, looking at the list of threads, at the top, you can click "Mark forum as read". When I do this, my username is removed from the "Users viewing this forum" list - while I'm still viewing the forum.

magdaleine -> RE: Bug Report (5/1/2005 5:05:22 PM)

There's something else that seems strange. I use the e-mail notifications. I connect only through Crosswalk. However, sometimes my e-mail notifications want to link me through Christianity.com instead of through CW.

figmentPez -> RE: Bug Report (5/2/2005 12:33:29 AM)

For the second time I've gone to "My Forums" and seen what appears to be someone else's subscriptions. This time there were even three people on the buddy list (I don't have anyone). The "My Profile" link on that page took me to my own profile, so I wasn't really logged in as someone else. Going to "My Forums" again brought me back to my actual subscriptions. I took a screenshot of me seeing the wrong subscriptions (though in retrospect I probably should have saved the HTML too).

This is not a bug. The notification goes by the site where the user posted was logged in through.
