I need prayer to help me keep a good perspective on my life. I'm not sleeping particularly well this week, and when I'm not sleeping well I tend to revert to the anger phase of grief. I actually snarled at the sunrise this morning (how dare the sun shine, the sky turn blue, the autumn breeze blow when I feel like this?). I know in my heart that this is temporary, as are all of our lives on earth, but I just don't want to hurt the people in my life with careless words or misplaced emotions.

Good morning, everyone. Last night, I got a more complete description of my assignments and wow... the next 8 weeks are going to be a marathon. It looks like a fascinating class, though. So pray for me, for wisdom and for strength. My emotional strength has been running very low lately, on a number of levels. I won't be around much, obviously, but may pop my head in from time to time. When I do, I'll be coming in to the prayer thread, so know I will be praying for you all.

I'm praying for you Belle and Grace-N-Mercy.
My birthday is coming up this weekend and this year it is effecting me a bit more than I anticipated. I'm away from friends - even though I've started to meet some people here, but the relationships aren't deepening quite yet. I really miss having people to talk to about my day - my life - to really care about what is going on with me. This year, I'm acutely feeling the absence of having close friends nearby, a husband, and children. I'm also kind of dissappointed with my job; I had hoped that it would be more relational - but it isn't. I might have to make some changes to my work schedule to encourage this. I've also recently joined a church, but the fellowship activites are held during the nights I work.
I've been down for the last few days - and have been trying to look to Jesus for contentment. He will give me joy and will definitely sustain me, but I do ask for prayers in this area. I don't want to spend the rest of the week in a funk. I'm praying too that He'll give me human companionship during this time.

RGod,
Thank you (and others) for praying for me, the prayers really do help.
I can relate to the sentence quoted above, it can feel really lonely at times. I will definitely keep you in my prayers. You are right, He can and will sustain you and even give you joy.
I'm kind of concerned about our moderator Lisa. I'm new here but I think it is unusual for her not to post for a little while, and I gather both her family and job situations are very serious. Lisa, I'm thinking of you and praying for you.

I mentioned before re: my friend who is trying to adopt a boy from Russia. She is on her way back now from a trip to plead with the directors. She had a great trip and was able to bring clothes, and a few toys to the kids at the orphanage. She gained favor with the directors, but it is still up to the court system to allow the adoption to take place.
My prayer is the God's will will be done in this situation, whether it be for the adoption of this boy, or for an even greater cause.

I have put out at least 40 resumes/applications, and barely any interest at all. I'm very frustrated, to say the least. Please pray about the job situation, but also that I am open to all that God seems to be doing - in ripping apart my inner being.
Praying for the other requests.

Lisa!!! We really missed you and we are glad to hear from you. The economy has really affected job hunting - I went through this earlier this summer. But God provided for me and I know that he will for you too. Lisa, you are His! We'll keep praying for you.

I have spent since Sept working on getting my house back in order after Ike took his fury out on us. I am getting a bit frustrated from the delays. But I know that some people are in a lot worse place that I am. I look at what my home looked like and wish it was back together already. At least I can live in it now. Please keep us here in Texas in prayer. Recovering is still taking its toll.

Praying for all these requests, and those that are unspoken as well. It seems there are many of us who feel uncertain about our futures right now.
I don't want to sound like a broken record, but I still need prayers for perspective. It's too easy right now for me to have tunnel-vision, focusing narrowly on myself and my child and our needs and neglecting the others who God has placed in my life. Please pray that I will be able to be the mother, daughter, sister, and friend that my loved ones need.

My mom got a phone call that her brother (my uncle) passed away very early this morning. If you could pray for peace for his family and pray for an unspoken request for me as well.

My great- grandma just was diagnosed with terminal cancer, she has 3 months to live. I am worried
for her soul, I don't know for sure if she is saved or not.
And I personally need prayer, I had to cut off on of my friendship with my best friend and even
though she did and said some things that really hurt me, it was still really hard for me, because,
when I care about someone, I care for them with all of my heart. I guess the reason I get hurt
so deeply, is because I love others so deeply. I want God to do what's best for her, I care more
for her as a person than I do for myself, yes, she hurt me more than she could know, but I care
for her soul and I pray that God will bless her.
Last night at church, our youth pastor preached about giving what we loved the most to God,
and that if we truly want something, we have to want God more. God asked me to give Him the
one thing I want more than anything, and even though it hurt, I know that God will do what's best.

I have a praise (before it happens ... I often keeps these things to myself because I MISTAKENLY will think how I might "jinx" it ... even though I know there is no such thing!!!) Today I had an interview after for a contract at a local club. It went extremely well. (I am a NSCA-CPT and group fitness instructor, usually personal trainers are self employed.) They have a clientele that is able to keep me booked for 30 hours a week! That is huge, because my percentage comes to between $40 and $52 an hour!!!) It is all contingent on my references, who have always been wonderful. But the biggest blessing is the job (and light hours) will open up an opportunity to volunteer for something that I love to do ...
... I was made aware of an organization here in Atlanta that takes girls(young girls) off the street and shares Jesus with them. As some of you know, I have worked with abused and neglected children for 11 years before going back to school. I was hired here in Georgia to open a shelter for abused kids, Lois and I did it from scratch ... getting the licensing, writing the policy and procedures, getting the facility funded and furnished, hiring ... the works. While there I secured a couple of federal grants totaling just under $800,000. I just spoke with their director (at the ministry here in Atlanta), and they are trying to open up a shelter that takes in these young prostitutes. There is a great deal of sex trafficking in the Atlanta area ... where girls (usually from another country) are taken against their will and sold into prostitution. There is also a grant for up to $1,000,000 for programs reaching out to this group of children. I have been praying for years to be used in this capacity ... I have so many skills I have learned that they can use, and I so want to give all God has enabled me to do. I am crying as I write this ... it has always been so much bigger than me ... my dream that is ...
Please thank God with me, and pray that He will work out every detail.
Please also pray for Mr. Bowlers, the director's husband. He has just been diagnosed with acute myeloid leukemia, a very aggressive type of cancer that attacks the red and white blood cells and the platelets. He has been newly diagnosed, this is one of the scarier cancers in terms of prognosis.
Though I haven't been visiting too often, I do think of y'all as some very wonderful co-workers in Christ ... may God bless rach of you beyond your wildest dreams.

I also love chocolate, so that would have been a tough fast for me too! I feel such peace giving this person to God and I know, He will give them back, just not today or maybe not even in the immediate future, I have to be patient! Thank you for your prayers!
