PRAY for our members who are being impacted by Ike and for their property - that they don't have too much damage. This storm is nearly unprecedented in so many ways. Pray for the responders who cannot go out and rescue those as the storm comes through. Pray for those who didn't heed the order to leave.
Potentially there will be a large loss of life with this storm.

Hey, guys. Would you keep me in prayer? I have a monster migraine this afternoon that persisted even after my nap... and it started sometime last night!! I just took an Excedrin Migraine, so I pray it goes away soon.

So the drama continues:
We have Ike refuges from Beaumont staying at our house (they are friends of one of my roommates). Besides a full house already, adding two adults and two small children, the older girl (2 years) went to doc today and has a staph infection. I'm worried about that spreading since we have nine of us in one house. Also, the mom as of today has run out of money and diapers. Please pray that we will be able to help them find the assistance they need.

Ick. Doesn't sound like fun ....
My brother called tonight ... whining that he doesn't have money to go to the store and buy water ... he has no water in his house because of power outages. So he expects me to drive 30 miles round trip out of my way tomorrow to bring him water from my house so he can at least flush his toilet ....
Fortunately, his power came back.
A big part of this area is without power ... it is crazy scary looking ... and we are so far from hurricane country it isn't funny .... I am without cable but there are worse things to be without than a tv ...

We have these little groups that talk to each other during the week and check up on the teens, the mentors are us older teens/adults at youth group. My group's mentors are my mom, me, Singing Boy and my friend Pherb.(Don't Ask!) Anyway, one of the boys in my group had really done a battle to get off of drugs this past year, he has only been saved for about 3 months and was doing really good to keep clean, in fact, he had been clean for 3 months before he got saved. But, he had a really tough week last week and broke down and did some again. He really needs you guys prayers, if he continues to do them, he will have to go to rehab again. He really is a good kid, he just needs prayer and direction in his life, he is from a broken home and it rips my heart out to see him like this. Please, pray for him and that I will know the right words to say to him to help him. Thanks!

Please be praying for my co-worker Elena. She was taken from work yesterday (she works in another office from me) to the ER for chest pains, and they decided to keep her overnight. I don't know any more than that, but I will want to go see her this afternoon.
