Pink flamingoes work if you're into early Ricardo Montalban.

Seriously, I think they can look pretty good if you gots palms.

But don't get me started on tatoos. I will admit to being an old fogie (sp?) when it comes to tatoos.

We have a house in town with Pink flamingoes, whirligigs, and both black and white lawn jockeys, plus ornaments and gizmoes that I couldn't guess what they're called.

Do you exclude the possibility that you may eventually get convicted to use some ink on you as a witnessing tool ? (particularly if you saw a tasteful design that you really liked)

Just wondered, take care.

The only remote possibility that I might get convicted to get inked as a witnessing tool is if 1) no needle is involved, 2) I can wash it off if I change my mind about it's location/content, or 3) no needle is involved.

I bet you can see where I'm going with this.

Okay thnx. I was actually asking doinkdom, but anyway thnx for your response. Doinkdom and her husband are invloved in ministry and it's for ministry related reasons that the matter was being discussed with doinkdom. The fact is that many ppl in their 40s and 50s are getting some well-thought-out faith-related ink out of personal conviction.

But hey thanks for your comment, the more the better.

Take care.

well, I'm kinda gonna stick with Jimbo's reasoning.

No needles involved
No pain involved
No needles involved

and when my skin starts sagging even more....I can get it removed painlessly

oh...and it'd have to also be free of charge. Last time I checked, tattoos were $200 or more.

I didn't even think about that. If I'd had an eagle tattoo put on when I was 18, it'd look like a heat-striken turkey by now.

I see.

Did your daughters' tats really cost that much? your local parlor might give you a quote for less than that for a small, tasteful one.

But anyway,

Take care.

Are you kidding, of COURSE I've thought about that...

mirror mirror on the wall
who's that idiot down the hall
...you know the one with a rose tattoo that has a never ending stem...

I'm soooo vain

No her's were actually free...which might account for the workmanship - I really don't know. But I know when my husband was looking at getting an armband tattoo about 10 years ago, it was upwards of $200.00 or more at the time in NC.

We're in SC now so I don't honestly know the true cost around here.

So would the idea of having a rose tattoo, if done nicely and paid for by someone else, appeal to you maybe?

Take care.

I saw a lawn jockey today!

When y'all mentioned them, I had to look them up because I didn't know what they were. But I saw a bona fide lawn jockey today when out walking! He was holding a lantern.

I thought it looked pretty classy, although I wouldn't have on in MY yard.

(Yeah, I realize I'm not 40 yet, but this was too important to not post about!)

Tricia, one's first lawn jockey is definitely an important milestone.

Okay, so I guess that even if your husband or daughter 'dared' you to get a faith related tattoo together with them getting one as well, and even if they paid for it, you would still say, No, period...?

(Maybe that's a teeny bit harder to answer?)

Take care.

Oh so you mean that never under any circumstances would you agree to let anyone near and dear to you pay for a tattoo on you that you liked?

I see so you sound just a bit hesitant, like, you think you probably would refuse, but you might...just.. consider it?

Is "no" a foreign concept to you or something? Do we need to show you a dictionary?
