Very cute avatar Betty!

Gotta start work soon but real quick...no Ray I didn't see that movie. Is it good? John and I did see Changeling last night though. I was well done but sad. Good acting though. I do recommend it.

Doing well. I worked at the store at the Navy Exchange. We had a signing for this artist...Wyland I only sold two major items but that alone already made my week goal.

Bump. Happy Monday island peeps! Hears silence

Well let's see. Today I'm going to try to get my Thanksgiving shopping done before I start work. The Whole Foods Turkey is very expensive but it's just once a year. I think it will be nice to have a free range turkey. I may brine it in buttermilk to help tenderize it a little since free range is normally drier. But I can get it fresh! Hope my first bird goes well.

I just want to say congrats to Betty and Ed for their first meeting! I understand what the first meeting feels like. How cute!

Fasten your seatbelts...it's going to be a bumpy night!

Okay, I'm plagerizing Bette Davis' character in "All About Eve," but Trish's post made me do it!

We've been busy at the soup kitchen. Yeah...that's it.

From the Blues Brothers:

[after a burst of gunfire from the Mystery Woman, Jake climbs to his feet, covered in mud from the tunnel floor]

Jake: It's good to see you, sweetheart.

Mystery Woman: You contemptible pig! I remained celibate for you. I stood at the back of a cathedral, waiting, in celibacy, for you, with three hundred friends and relatives in attendance. My uncle hired the best Romanian caterers in the state. To obtain the seven limousines for the wedding party, my father used up his last favor with Mad Pete Trullo. So for me, for my mother, my grandmother, my father, my uncle, and for the common good, I must now kill you, and your brother.

[Jake falls to his knees]

Jake: Oh, please, don't kill us. Please, please don't kill us. You know I love you baby. I wouldn't leave ya. It wasn't my fault.

Mystery Woman: You miserable slug! You think you can talk your way out of this? You betrayed me.

Jake: No I didn't. Honest... I ran out of gas. I, I had a flat tire. I didn't have enough money for cab fare. My tux didn't come back from the cleaners. An old friend came in from out of town. Someone stole my car. There was an earthquake. A terrible flood. Locusts. IT WASN'T MY FAULT.

[Elwood covers his head in anticipation of more gunfire, Jake removes his sunglasses to make a wordless appeal, and the Mystery Woman visibly softens]

Mystery Woman: Oh, Jake... Jake, honey...

[Jake embraces the Mystery Woman and they kiss]

Jake: [to Elwood] Let's go.

[He drops the Mystery Woman and walks off]

What?! John you watched the Charlie Brown special without me?

I'm brining the turkey right now. No, I didn't drop it on the floor and fling it out the window. LOL! The brine smells great! It's the apple and spice brine from WS. This expensive turkey dinner will be sooo worth it. Hehe. No really. I'll let everyone know how it came out and if it really is different or not. I would think so. All of those flavors will just permeate the meat and the buttermilk should tenderize it well...especially since it's a free range turkey.

G-d is sooo good! As usual I woke up to a nice quiet time with Him during my morning shower. Even though I'm in there trying to wake up, I know that my G-d will be there for the rest of the day! I work at the Navy Exchange store again today. Then afterward I gotta buy a few more items for tomorrow's dinner.

Question of the Day: What do you do with leftovers?

I guess I'll answer my own questions. lol

For leftovers, I'm thinking of making turkey Milanese or bubble and squeak.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone! I am very thankful for all of you and I pray that you all have a wonderful rest of the year! Eat lots of turkey!

((((Teri)))) Happy Thanksgiving! Will keep you in my prayers. G-d is Good.

Well, I'm almost done. The turkey is resting, the dressing's in the oven and all I have to do is roast the veggies. The only thing now is that I hope the bird is cooked. I didn't have a chance to get a meat thermometer. lol I cooked it for 2:45 for a 14 pounder. But I can smell the herbs and buttermilk from the brine! I used olive oil instead of butter. Nothing else. Just the brine and the oil. I can't wait to try it and see if the buttermilk tenderized it. If not, it will be automatically dry since it's free range.

John took a pic of my first turkey. I smell avatar coming.

Excellent!

So my first Thanksgiving dinner went well! I really enjoyed it. John is all giddy about the leftovers. My parents liked it too.

I wonder if it will actually be busy at work today. We don't really have any blowout sales...just the regular ones we've been having. We'll see. But working at the Navy Exchange store on Wednesday was soooooo boring! It was so slow I think I was going fall asleep! I enjoyed the other time when I helped with the Wyland signing but a regular day is kinda painful. lol.

How was everyone's Thanksgiving? I'd like to extend my last question of the day...leftovers? I's also like to add one too..What are you most thankful for this year?

We pack up about 90% of our leftovers and give them to our daughters so that they will have some food at home. The rest we make turkey sandwiches and perhaps turkey noodle soup.

We brought back left-overs for just a few meals.

This year, I'm most thankful for my salvation. I'm understanding the doctrine of election more than I ever did, and it's really exciting to know that the Lord chose me from the foundation of the world! Theology sure isn't dry or boring!
