Then there is the fact that there are elections coming. If you change you name you need to register to vote again.

So it takes 60-120 days to get a marriage license. We can request one earlier but I am not sure if or what it will cost. Oy. But I really would like to get it earlier so I can do my name change. I also need it to change my name at the bank. Ha
So are you y'all not legal until you get the license then?

Right, here you have so many days before and after the wedding but most people get theirs a few days ahead of time.

Just been poking around here and starting to get caught up in my forums reading again. I tend to subscribe to a lot, so I usually take the weekends, Saturday morning usually to try to get caught up.

Why does it take so long to get a Marriage Liscence? We got an application before the wedding, and the Marriage Certificate two weeks later. Then I got my State Photo ID at the Registry of Motor Vehicles, and my name change at Social Security.
I'm still not used to my married name. I had my maiden name for 48 years, so now it's startling to have John's last name. I wonder if I'll ever get used to it. I didn't expect changing my name would be so traumatic.

Well technically the first thing they did after getting married was to go to Cleveland.

Well if you think it would be a wise decision to hire Ed then I'm going to support that decision! Now we'll have to get the paperwork set up, uniforms distributed, orientation to discuss benefits, training.....

Make sure Tina files all needed papers with the IRS and the State Dept Of Taxation. So that he can get a refund at the end of the year.
