It is just a different shaped pasta. This thread did not say that I had to be logical in my choice of foods, simply to state them.

I forgot to add okra & pumpkin soup to my list. Other foods are diet pumpkin custard, hospital food, cold soups and liver. Most of what's been posted here in this thread sounds too.

How funny ... I like everything on this list except for pea soup and liver.

Well to each his own.

Cold soups? Hmm, that does sound quite gross. I don't think I've ever had one, but the sound of them is not so great.

Okra? YUM!

Cold soups are great if they're made to be cold (gazpacho for instance).

^^ I agree 3tulips.. cream of wheat=ewww!!

it's got to be a texture thing.. even puddings are gross to me. Just these past few years, I've managed to stomach yogurt and only so my rugrats'll eat it.

and I forgot to mention a couple other things that make me go EWWWW!!

tomato soup with crackers mushed into it.. looks like what comes up rather than what should go down
grilled cheese sandwiches.. I'll eat them.. but I have to be pretty desperate... and it takes time.
kentucky fried chicken.. makes me gag.. can't even get past the smell of it.. ugh
my dad loves mushy peas with vinegar.. it's gotta be a Scots thing.. LOL blech!
and how could I forget this?? VEGEMITE AND MARMITE!
haggis *sorry dad... *
orange marmalade.. gross!
peanut butter.. even worse.. peanut butter and jam/jelly sandwiches.
any organ meat.. I'd go vegan before I'd eat liver or kidneys or tongue etc.
cream filled anything.. donuts, cakes, swiss rolls.. anything that has a cream filling
most desserts too.. too sweet.. too gooey.. and whipped cream or cool whip?? grossest thing EVER!

I must not be a picky eater. Most of the stuff on this list makes me say Yum! I'll even enjoy liver if it's cooked right.

Except:

Grits
Everything on Molly's gross-out list (except Haggis, which is yummy and can be made without the stomach; and chicken hearts aren't bad either)
Lima beans
Canned green peas (mushy--bleah!)
Onions in frozen veggie mixes (raw, or cooked from raw, are fine)
Bugs (not that I have ever seen them served but I've heard they're eaten in Louisiana)

M4Maggie, grits are like oatmeal, but made with corn and served with tons of butter. It's a Southern thing, I think. I learned that the hard way when I accidentally helped myself to a bowl of them at a breakfast buffet in the US, thinking it was oatmeal. Ewwwww.

When I'm pregnant I can't handle smelling the fish counter at the grocery store but I hardly think that counts.

ETA: forgot two, although they're liquid: beer, and coffee (esp black), although I love coffee-flavoured food.

I love grits, but only if they're coked right. Watery grits from a buffet are really not good, and not real grits. Grits with sugar in them are not real southern grits either.

I don't like liver.

I don't like cornbread with sugar in it.

I don't know if I like chitterlings or not, but I'm not going to try them to find out!

I didnt like grits either till I found out I was eating them wrong!

I was putting butter and sugar. and it was just nasty! Since I've been enlightened, I enjoy them with cheese and crumbled bacon!

My ewwww foods are:

Any organ meat
canned peas
most any canned veg except green beans
creamed corn
oysters
beets
any freshwater fish

I must be even less picky than anne-girl....

I eat anything that does not bite me back, or move while I bite into it.

That's pretty much how I am.

Although I do have a consistency weirdness. I don't like mushy beans, pudding, stuff like that.

And I can't eat Jell-O and chicken and stars. Ate too much of it when I was pregnant and unforunately tastes the same going down as it does coming up.

Actually, everything on my yuck list is about texture, not taste. I probably would like grits done properly (and if I was warned to expect salty/buttery rather than sweet breakfast cereal!) Also, I now enjoy every food I hated as a kid.

What on earth are chicken and stars?

With all the sushi haters I'm reminded of Gollum's take on meat (and presumably also fish): "Give it to us raw and wriggling!"

I've done raw meat and raw fish and loved both; I'll skip the wriggles though.

Chicken and stars is soup. The pasta is shaped like stars.

I used to feel the same way about hot dogs.
