Another silly ditty from scifigirl. Feel free to respond with your own little rhyme about being single:

My crush, my crush,
He makes me blush,
He is quite cute,
And handsome to boot.

But me he doesn't like,
I guess I'm not his type.
My how sad that can be,
When it is u that men don't see.

My crush is my good friend,
And I wouldn't trade him in the end,
But maybe someday I'll know the truth,
If I ever get up the courage of Ruth.

SciFi, that is too cute!

Let's see if I can invoke my poetic muse:

There once was a boy
Who thought I was a toy
When he broke my heart
I almost fell apart
Until God gave me His presence to enjoy

Here's another:

Ain't nuthin' wrong with being single.
Ain't nuthin' wrong, just mix and mingle.
Thank God for the gifts that He's given thus far.
Thank God you don't have to meet some dude* in a bar.

Heh . . . SciFiGirl,

"Ah, my poor girl" he said with a sigh
If your crush doesn’t like you than he isn’t that fly.

I wrote this one after a breakup years ago. A little melancholy but I thought it was one of my best:

The road is lonely, the pavement wet,
I’m thinking of you. We just met.
The car is running. The engine hot.
Inside I shiver. The air is not.
I turn on the radio and think of you,
Turn up the heat in the car, too.
As I drive along at my slowest pace,
I think of the time I first saw your face.
It may have been cold and wet that winter day,
You couldn’t have kept my feelings away.
Perhaps I said more than I should,
But not nearly the amount that I could.
It is such a tragedy to let emotions rule,
Sometimes it leads us to feel like a fool.

I asked for her number, I called it a crush
she had a nice smile, she had a nice tush
nice set uv dimpels, her figure was thin.
if there was a contest, she would certainly win
"God I like this one give her to me."
"make her take notice, make her see"
I thought it was clear, but it was a blur
it was me me me, for her her her.
and when my eyes were opened, I was completly crushed
because what I was calling love, was really called lust.

Dear Lord are you there?
I know that You care.
But where can You be.
My eyes do not see.
Then You take my hand
And show me the sand
Like footsteps in snow
I just didn’t know
Sweet whispers I hear
I know that Your near
Alone never more
I’m starting to soar
I know that You care
Dear Lord are You there?

God is so good ... My Dad was a writer (in fact I have had friends that studied his work in college) and my Lord graciously passed that gift to me ... I took all of 5 minutes to write this and can take no credit whatsoever because it is a gift from God ... the same He had given to my Dad.

I am sooooooooooooooo happy about the news I just heard
3 girls sat with me (and my cat) and gave me this good word.
they wanted me to know that me and their mommy are good together
They wanted me to know they are ready to endeavor
something more would be great was the unanimous concurrence
said directly to me, just for my reasurance.

The Surprise

There once was a man
Who had a plan
To live out his life for the Lord

Then one day
The Lord did say
"I have a surprise for you"

He went downtown
To see the clowns
It was a hot parade that day

He found a girl
With lots of curls
Smiles were all around

His heart lept with joy
As he thought, "Oh boy!"
"This is the girl for me!"

Many days later
He still loves to date her
And the end of the story? We'll see.....

It's her!

PitterPatter ThumpThumpThump
She's walking toward me!
ACK! *SPLATTER* BUMP BUMP
My drink! My pants! I'm soaking wet!
She's walking toward me! Don't come yet!!

Now what? Now what? YES! Napkins!
WipeWipeWipe
My crotch! My crotch! She'll think I... WipeWipe
But I didn't, I just... ACK! She's coming!
*Act nonchalant*
Perhaps I'll get lucky.. an idiot savant.

She's smiling, did she see it? Hmm.. I don't know.
WipeWipe
Wait.. she was right there. Where did she go?
I thought she was.. oh. UGH, she's with Ted.
What's with that guy? I wish he wasNO
that's not nice. I'm better than that.
I wish he was fat.
Yes, much better. *smiles*
I wish he was fat.

A pox on you! Mr. Fat Ted!
I send bad vibes to you
straight from my head!

Now what? Now what? I need to go.
But I must do it so that no one will know.
The front door. The side door. No matter which way..
I still must walk past her. What will I say??

"It's a condition"
Well, that isn't true.
"My medication.."
No. Hmm. What will I do?
What's this? They're leaving! It's a reprieve!
Now I can finally sneak out unseen.

Boy that was close! *heads for the door*
That Ted, what's with him? He's such a BIG bore.
No matter. No matter. I'm on my way home.
Perhaps I should call her, to chat some by phone.

The weather, it's gorgeous! What a wonderful day!
I'm so glad she didn't see me, I didn't know what to say.
Now where did I park? Ah yes, there it is.
Why does she like him? With a laugh as goofy as his..

*GASP*

"Oh hi Ted... *gulp* Caroline.."
A rock to crawl under, somewhere to hide
I thought they were GONE.. I wish I could die!
"Yes, it's quite funny that you're parked next to me"
"My pants? Well.. it's a long story you see..."

NiceGuy

Oh how I love thee,
Let me count the ways.

If only God would say,
Call out to you I may.

But until then I shall obey,
To live Love's plan today.

Perhap come will be the day,
To sing my heart to thee.

You true poets out there have my apologies for dinging your sensibilities

She walks in my dreams and strolls through my heart.
She awakens my mind and touches every part.

This woman is special, she is a dream come true.
She fills my life with love, and fills my whole world too.

I thank God for this lady, this special love of mine.
He has truly blessed me, with amazing love so fine.

Teach me O God, how to love her as I ought.
This was my hope, my prayer, the love I sought.

I love you sweetie.

That was awesome, Nice Guy! (And I liked the others too, which I am just getting around to reading.)

There once was a girl who knew a nice guy
And no one else treated her so kind
She wondered if they would be anything else
But it didn't seem to be the right time

There were moments that she had reason to pause
Because she didn't know what he was feeling
And she didn't know what she was feeling as well
And the confusion, it had her mind reeling.

So stuck in the friend zone were this guy and this girl
They vowed to be buddies to the end
Nothing would separate them in the whole world
For they'd always been very good friends.

But life took its toll, and they both moved along
Though they got jobs in the same city
They never saw much of each other at all
And the future, it didn't look pretty

Then one day they ran into each other by chance
And remembered the days they'd been friends
Yet days have gone by, and he still hasn't called
Could it be that this friendship's at an end?

Well, she resolved she would waste no more time
Wondering if she'd hear from him
Saying, "If he doesn't want to be a friend of mine
Than why should I want to be his?"

Yet still she remembered the kindness he'd shown
At a quite lonely time in her life
Was she thinking of him now just because she was lonely
And longed to be somebody's wife?

Oh well, 'nuff time wasted on what will not be
She'd guard herself from more delusion
Only one thing is worse than being alone
And that is the state of confusion!

My feelings I’ll hide behind my wall, held under lock and key.
I’ll smile a smile so you wont see the pain that lies beneath.
The times we share I enjoy so much and at times
it would be nice to share your touch
but now and forever we will always be
separated by her and your feelings and heart that she holds so steadfastly.
Those times with you I’ll never have
to make you smile or hold your hand, to catch you tears as they fall down like rain drops on the thirsty ground. You will always have the upper hand for a part of my heart you’ll forever hold. My time with you is only like the snow that falls down upon the ground, ever so gently it comes down and then melts upon the ground.

WOW Kygal. That was an amazing poem (and it was very sad too!)

The part at the end comparing your time with him with snow melting on the ground was really poignant... You are very talented! Was this taken from personal experience?

I did not write this but I copied it down years ago.

Fading Light

Before the sun sets one more time
And lets the darkness trail behind,
Alow me to peer into your soul
And tell you what my eyes behold.

Before the darkness engulfs us all,
Hold my hands; don't let me fall;
Promise you'd never leave my side
Until it's truly the end of time.

Before I leave for the world above,
Just tell me who you truly love;
Look at the one you always knew,
And remember who I was to you.

Before I take my final breath
And sink into the abyssal depth,
Smile at me with your tempting lips
And be with me through all of this.

But when my end would finally come
And you see the setting of the sun,
Remain with me for a minute more
and hold me tighter than ever before.

Ok, time to revive this thread....

He is the joy in my sunshine
The song in my rain
The harmony in my heart
And the laughter in my pain

He is my steady
When I am weak
He holds me close
As the Lord, I seek

He prays for me
Out of a sincere heart
He wants me to be well
So we will never part

My friend is my friend
First and foremost
He's a gift from God
My heart doest boast

I love Doer! ;o)
