National Novel Writing Month 2009 --- you in? I am!

What are you doing during October to prepare? Or are you going to "wing it" on November 1?

Here's to "30 days and nights of literary abandon"!!!]

I might try out for this. It depends on how the Lord leads.
God bless,
Crushmaster.

For anyone who has a Gmail/Google account, a fellow NaNoWriMo has created an awesome app for novel writing. You can preview it at www.mywritingnook.com. It requires you to sign in and it's basically a Google app. It saves your stuff on the Google servers, so you can access it anywhere that you have internet access. You can back up your stuff by emailing your docs or downloading them. Totally free!!!

I think I'm going to try to do it this year. I've been looking for a writing group in my area so that I can meet with other writers. There is something here but the actually meetups have not yet been scheduled. I'll check today.

Just being with people helps me tremendously when it comes to writing.

I personally am not, BUT my husband and 2 of my children are giving it a go.

Hubby is doing the adult version, but the kids (almost 12 and almost 16) are doing the youth version where they can set their own goal and work toward that!

Just keeping them on track with this and with school work and keeping the other two kids on track - well that's more then enough work for me!

Blessings,

Garsy

Did everyone get started? I'm almost on target...a few hundred words short I think.

I am stellaluna. But I'm about a thousand words behind. However I have the entire day off today, so I'll have plenty of time to write :) I was a little blocked yesterday and then I switched the focus to another character (new chapter). All of a sudden the words came pouring out. It was moving too much in a sci-fi conspiracy direction without enough emphasis on the characters. The main idea is starting to percolate (spelling?) in my mind - and I'm so excited to see what is going to unfold. I love writing!

I've identified a few writer's groups in the area and am planning to meet with them at least once a week during nano. Are you writing alone stellaluna - or with a group?

I've got 730-something words right now. Sooooooo behind. But that's OK. Every little bit closer to 50K is still closer. And I'm still getting to know my characters... and plot? Well, I liken myself to Rodin chipping away at the stone, to reveal the figure "trapped" inside --- the plot will eventually reveal itself.

I'm ElaineStuart over at NaNo if you want to "buddy" me.

Since this year has been a fairly bad writing year for me, I decided to jump in.

I'm happy with the story, but I am 13K words behind schedule. I'd love weekend to get caught up. One way or another, I need to finish. My publisher surprised me with some good news last Friday and I'm determined to get her more work to sell.

I'm really behind, and unless I really buckle down, I'm not going to make it. Doesn't help that I have a graduate school paper, a script, and 30-something articles to write for an online site.

But we'll see how it goes. Anyway, back to work!

My kids are behind too. But school comes first and both of them missed a day of that this week due to illness. That and fighting for computer time isn't very conducive to getting much done. Plus they are working to bring grades up. School first - NaNo - second. Sorry writers!

Blessings,

Garsy

I'm really trying to get caught up. I definitely want to win this year. I made some progress this evening, but I'm still 5,000 words behind. I think I can get a chunk of that out of the way tomorrow and then next weekend is a long one for the holiday and I don't have any plans.
