I don't remember praying before bedtime as a child, except on those rare occasions when the whole family did it together. But the reason I was afraid the devil would grab my feet was because I would have deserved it. I was an evil child until I was 14.

I'm not at home so I can't check, but I peeked last week and I saw: - two flip-flops (for the shower) - a bookmark - two old magazines - a cutting mat for sewing (needs flat storage) - extension cord since the plug on that wall is behind the bed Not too bad, since I haven't looked under there in months.

About five large bags (those clear heavy plastic zipper bags that sheets/quilts come in) stuffed full of yarn; fabric; patterns and knitting utensils!

I would never dangle my feet over the side of the bed at night either, in case something might reach out and grab me. If I had to get out of the bed, I jumped way out so "the hand" couldn't grab me. And getting back in was a leap, too, of course. These days I have a storage box of wrapping paper, scotch tape, and gift bags. And dust bunnies, of course.

I have now put all my shoes in boxes inside the cabinet under my bed. Not neatly, just in boxes in the cabinet. I will have to figure out "neatly" later. Haven't had time.

Shoes, loose and in boxes. An odd sock or two. And a round fuzzy one-eyed thing in the corner I call Julius.

We have a waterbed frame under our bed that has six drawers at the bottom. I only use two of them. They are reallynot very big. I wish we had somthing that I could store boxes underneath.

Pamsy -- Just curious. I am thinking about remaking the cabinet under my bed so that it is deeper. Could you do that with the drawers under your bed? It seems almost sure that could be done easily.

Ashes to ashes, dust to dust -- someone's either coming or going under that bed!

I have a few mismatched socks, a couple of stuffed animals that migrated from Thing 2's room into mine, a Mormon family of dust bunnies, and a couple of Tinkerbell notebooks that I picked up here and there.
