Share with us your great "finds"!!! Whether it be: the best body slimmer, the most comfortable walking shoe, the best product for dry skin, aging, arthritis, the best book/devotional, the best support bra, things that deal with menstruation, intimacy, household products, make-up, nailcare, apperal, relaxing techniques any, anything!!!!!

Chances are, if you've finally found something that is more affordable, convenient, works better than anything else you've tried, someone would love to know about it.

As long as it's something for women ......what is your great "find"????

This thread was actually inspired by a body wash I purchased and used yesterday. St. Ives whipped silk-------love it! I'd been looking for a body wash that smelled good, felt good on the skin and was reasonably priced(some of those things can get quite pricey ). I also wanted to find it in regular stores and not a bath and body shop. I've tried, caress and other products but I've now found my home . It had the whole bathroom lit up with a wonderful fragrance.

For all of us Tampax fans - I never liked anything else. Last month, I got a sample of Kotex tampons/pads in the mail and just tossed them in the "emergency" drawer in my bathroom.

This month, I used the new Kotex tampons (I got three of various sizes) and I have to tell ya...I'm hooked. Much easier to insert, do not leak (always had to wear a pad before even with a tampon) and there is less rustling noise when using them in a public restroom - you know all that paper tearing and crumbling .

I dunno too much about bras (other than I have to wear one)...however, this last Christmas I had a gift certificate that I used to purchase new ones. It was a department store and I would recommend everyone go to a dept store to get sized properly. Even if you don't buy a bra - get an accurate sizing done. I can't believe the difference it makes! really!

Olay Complete Care Moisturising Fluid.

I have combination skin which is also sensitive, and prone to abnormal pigment. Olay Moisturising Fluid is wonderful because it's absorbed quickly, with not a trace of greasiness, and leaves my skin soft and smooth, PLUS it contains UV protection (SPF 15).

I can't use tampons, but the best pads (IMO) are always infinity, especially if your flow is heavy and you don't want to change pads frequently. They absorb much more than what they feel and look like they are capable of. :)

I second Kotex brand tampons. I had always been a Playtex user but after having kids they just didn't seem to feel right. I then tried Tampax Pearl and liked them at first but after awhile I didn't. I read on another site that a lot of women really liked Kotex so thought what the heck I will give them a try and I really like them.

I tried the Always Infinity pads and I hate to say it but I didn't like them at all. My youngest daughter liked them though.

I like their absorbency more than anything... that and the lightness of them. I don't like wings thouugh, but I'll deal with them... since I don't have to worry about overflow that much. :)

Always is my favorite brand for pads. I do like Platex, but I might try the Kotex. I think I got a sample in the mail too, but not sure if I used it or not. I know I tossed it in drawer or maybe my purse, hmm .

Anyone try those crystals or whatever they are for a more natural deodorant? I usually use Secret, but it seems to make me sweat more. I like not any if I can get away with it.

I've used secret for years but here lately it's not doing the trick--which is quite puzzling. Can deoderant loose it's effectiveness a while after it's been bought?

One stick can last me over a month.

I've used the crystal deodorant and they were okay. I didn't like them in the summer, but I could use them in the winter.

The one I used had to be run under the water first to get it damp and then wipe it under my arms and of course, wait for it all to dry - that was the most annoying part OR I could apply it before I dried off from showering, which turned out to be a better option.

And secondly, I found myself having to re-apply it halfway through the day.

So...I would use them, but given the choice - I like my Suave with Aloe stick.

I dunno if it changes, but I know for me...I want whatever it takes NOT to smell.

I can handle the sweating, but not the stinking.

I love Kotex tampons. I was a firm Tampax user till they changed the tube thing. (drawing a blank what it's called)

I received a Jaqua sample in a box of something I ordered, and it's heaven! It's really expensive so I didn't order but signed up for their emails. A few weeks later they offered 40% off all orders, so that made it more reasonable. So if the prices are daunting, sign up for the emails! I get the buttercream frosting scent because that was the sample they had. I'm hoping I get more samples in my order.

I like Always pads, with Wings.

I use John Frieda shampoo and conditioner ... works great for my dry, curly, easily-tangled hair.

I have Sorta hair... it's Sorta Curly, Sorta Not. I cannot style/blowdry it because if I do, it frizzes and puffs out like a cotton ball. I have tried everything, and so now the only thing I style is my bangs. I found this stuff called Potion 9 by Sebastian, and I just put it in my hair and scrunch it up and let it air dry. It's fabulous. No frizzies, curls are uniform and soft, and I can still blowdry my bangs without causing a fuss lol! I LOVE IT, and now I can buy it at CVS YAY!!!

I like the thread!

For the past ten or so years, I have gotten a manicure every week. I used to do it to look nice at work but now, as a sahm, I do it to feel pretty. Over this period of time, I have tried lots of colors and nail polish brands ... I found that Essie has nice colors and lasts well. In terms of color, light pinks and flesh tones last longest because chips and air bubbles don't show as much. After lots and lots of experimentation, I finally settled on a base coat of Limoscene which is slightly opaque so hides my grungy natural nail color a bit and a top coat of Sugar Daddy which is a pearly pink that seems to go well for any occasion, season or attire. Other fab colors discovered over the years ... Saba Silver which is more pink than silver ... during the holidays, I sub this in for Sugar Daddy to give myself a little festive color. So pretty!!! Also, I like Appertif for my feet in the summer which is a very bright red with a hint of orange glow. In the wintertime, I go for Bordeaux on my feet which is a more staid shade of red. My husband likes red toes!

Also, a new discovery for hair ... I let my husband talk me into trying a chinatown hair salon which I resisted for a long time. I was nervous about doing anything "discount" with my hair! But last weekend, I got a shampoo, cut and color for $50! It looks just fine! My normal hair salon charges $50 for just the cut and $200 - $300 for color which I don't do often at that price! So, if you have one handy, venture into chinatown for your next hair appointment and save some big $$$!

OH....oh.....I've got one! I just got some new makeup. My old stuff was really...old and probably had lots of nasties growing in it.

Anywho, SmashBox makeup is the best! I have never used stuff like it before and am very happy with it.

I really like their eye shadows.

Hazel2,

Dittoing you on the Essie nail polishes. Have you tried OPI?

mamajennleigh,

I think I have Sorta hair too: sorta wavy, sorta straight. It depends on whether I air dry or blow dry, what products I use, and if I brush it!

I'm gonna check my CVS store for Potion 9, try it, and see what happens.

I've tried Silk Therapy's serum; it's pretty good.
I've tried Kenra's Platinum Silkening Gloss, and I love it! It's got a great strawberry scent, and you can use it on your skin too. I also use Kenra's Platinum Smoothing Creme. I do the gloss and then the creme -- on damp hair. Scrunch into curls/waves. And then blow-dry with a diffuser. Or let air dry.

Lip glosses/balms:
* Rosy Glow from Sephora is a lovely color and has just a bit of shimmer. Not too much. And it smells good too!
* I've really become fond of Smith's Rosebud Salve (also available at Sephora).

I have in a pinch, yes. But it seems to me like the color pallet is as varied and they seem a little goopy ... I suspect other nail clients prefer Essie so the Opi bottles get stale sitting on the shelf? Anyway, Opi is probably just as good if you can find colors!

I don't know if y'all with curly hair have it get tangly a lot, but there's this stuff that's called "It's a 10" that's a spray that really helps detangle your hair (plus 9 other things it says it does on the bottle, including controlling frizz :P) I have a perm, but my sister has naturally curly hair, and we both use it and it works really well when you spray it in right after a shower, or even as a "frizz control" after you've scrunched your hair. It's a bit on the expensive side...$35 a bottle, but I've had it for 6 months and the bottle is only half used.

Hazel, is your hair straight?

My one complete disaster with hair was done in Chinatown, Sydney. The hairdresser was only used to doing straight hair. She absolutely butchered my curls. It took six weeks to grow them to something my normal hairdresser could fix. Hair is the one area I won't scimp anymore. Too many hairdressers can't cut curls.

I like Puresse pads. I react to a lot of them. I can't wear tampons at all. Puresse pads are sanitised and I don't react.

It's kindof expensive, but if you have an "Origins" shop at your mall or in your city, thyere lotion called "A Perfect World" smells great.
I love basic things that are relaxing, I live in FL so gettin sun is a good way to relax and unwind.
I also find that moderate exersize throughout the week helps me , I go to the YMCA.
theres some shampoo and conditioner @ Walgreens that is actually a high priced "salon" brand called bumble and bumble... good stuff...
I've quit useing so much makeup these days...
I use OPI nail polish, too... but I get it at my (cosmetology) school for like, half the regular price :) sweet!!

okay, I love the feel and smell of the st ives body wash but I'm havin' a major problem with it. I've noticed the same issue with fragrant body wash that I buy for my husband and teenager as well---- and that is....after just a couple of uses, it really makes the wash cloth stink . I know it's not a matter of ringing the towel out correctly or hanging it up to dry the proper way because i never have this problem with regular soap. Perhaps body wash is meant to be used with those sponges??!!

Also, to any one who knows....and will fess up what about the K-Y jelly. The product(according to the commercial) that is scientifically proven to increase female enjoyment is there such a miracle?

What about switching from washcloths to a poof? Poofs dry out so quickly and well and mine never stinks after many years of loyal service in my shower. I suppose it is time to retire the poor thing or at least send it through the wash?!
