If you already had a baby this year or are pregnant and know what you are having, please mark it on the poll! :) Just curious to see what 2009 is all about with the babies. :)

I cant mark it for myself YET since I havent found out. Hopefully next month....but I know 2 people having girls and 3 people having boys and one is a set of twins! (4 boys!!)

We're having our first son due in a little over a week from now. [:)] We've got two other children both girls (Hannah Grace almost 4 and Jael Patience 2). [:)]

I had a baby girl, and my SIL and cousin had a baby girl. Another SIL and a good friend are pregnant and we don't know the gender yet, but their babies will come in 2009. A college friend of ours is expecting her 4th baby girl. They made no secret of the fact that they were trying for a boy, but I know they will love and cherish their newest girl. A work friend of my hubby & his wife are expecting a baby boy. Before this they had one miscarriage and one ectopic pregnancy, so this baby is an extra-special blessing.

Yeah, ive been calming myself down on wanting a boy b/c I was thinking a/b it so much and getting so anxious to find out! Now that Im calm, hahaha, I know that I wont be 'disappointed' if we have another girl. I know that whatever we have coming is what God wants us to have... and if we do have another girl, Im excited that I get to use a name we already had picked out before our 3rd was born! but still I cant wait to find out what is growing in my belly!! I know 2 friends that are having girls.... so that is 2 girls and 4 boys i know that are due this year.

My brother is having a boy. Our upstairs neighbor is having twin girls.

My sister is having a boy, and one friend had a boy and another had a girl this year. One is expecting, and they believe it's another girl.

I worked with a ton of pregnant people, 3 girls and 2 boys born by the time I was let go. There was a boy born to a family at church. As for me, we won't know for a while. I'm still working on hubby to find out the gender at the ultrasound in 4 weeks (if the baby cooperates). But, he still wants to wait until the birth. So........I may not be able to vote until November!

girl for me. Of the 4 girls I know of off hand who are having babies, or have had babies this year, 1 is a boy, the other 3 are girls.

Well I and the majority of my friends are pregnant right now. Forgive my visual accounting ... Me - girl Peggy - girl Uma - boy Natalie - girl Lisa - girl Sarah - girl Bridgett - ?? Lisa - ?? Jennifer - boy So ... two boys and five girls. The unknowns are just not far enough along to find out.

Ok, so I don't know if this is coincidence or not. But, I was looking around in a scrapbooking store (3 of them actually) and it seemed that there was a ton of boy's stuff, but not much baby girl's stuff. So, at the last store I asked the employee about it. She said they order the same number of boys and girls stuff, but they always have to reorder the girls stuff or get new things in....it sells much better then the boy's things. Then I started thinking....I wonder if it is because parent's just scrap more for girls then they do for boys or if there are just more girls being born? Then today, I saw the same thing at the BX at the air force base. As for us, I have talked Ray into finding out the sex of the baby at the ultrasound. They are installing a brand new 4D machine the week before my ultrasound, so as long as the baby faces the right direction, we should have no problems seeing what is there. I soooooooooooo can't wait to see if it is a boy or girl!!!!!!!!!! (Then I can start buying cute baby stuff[;)])

After three girls, the world of boys seems so foreign to me. I think I'm mature enough as a mother and a person now to raise one, but I KNOW what to do with little girls! John would like a boy so I expect we will give it another try but I have to admit I had a sense of relief when we found out we were having yet another girl! I was also a teeny tiny bit disappointed ... I really thought I was ready ... [;)] Sharon, that's exciting about the sonogram machine! You'll get a good view for sure! I just looked at your blog and can totally see a little whoever/whichever out there gardening with you! How exciting ...

Some of us are still waiting for our u/s. my friends IRL 2 girls born and 1 on the way. for the BOYS we have 4 on the way.

Yup, tomorrow is the big day! Get to see baby and how he/she is growing. Hopefully find out the gender....then we can vote! woo hoo! Ray and I have been talking, and really, we have no preference either way gender wise. Just a healthy child. But, I more then him really does want to know about the gender!!! Then at least I can stop referring to the baby as "it."

Here is a fascinating study on boys v girls ... it defies everything I've ever heard with hard cold facts (counting the children of thousands of families) ...
