I do eat bacon on rare occasions. Bacon has no carbs.

Hi Humble, I see you're from near Boston. Do you recognise the street where the pub Cheers is located - or was it filmed on a studio set and the pub/street doesn't exist?

Howdy MVIC, OK, here is the real deal on Cheers! It was based on an actual bar called The Hampshire House on Beacon St. They changed the name to Cheers because the show was so popular! The original set had moved the bar stand around to give it a different look initially. I learned that back in 1982 when the show was just debuting and a TV station was doing a special about TV shows based here. They even opened a second location in touristy Faneuil Hall as well. But to make a long story short, yes I do recognize the street. The show itself was filmed on a set instead.

Thanx for the information. Great show. Good script and excellent acting. Also Frasier went on to become a great series too.

Yes, that is a good show also. I watch it every night when I can. I didn't initially watch the later episodes in first run syndication because I was rebelling from the show at the time for a couple of reasons. BTW, the first season of Cheers in both writing/acting and in ratings didn't do so well. Had it had that type of dismal success today the show would be promptly canceled, go figure! Oh btw, sometime yesterday I mentioned in a thread that I was aiming to achieve 17,000 existing postings by the end of Monday night. As of this post, which ironically landed me right in my own thread, I have achieved that goal of 17,000!

Cool Judy, I hope you have a lot of fun! I would like to make it to Dollyworld someday. I am bummed that I never got to see Opryland at all, but Nashville is nice in general though. I am just relaxing, and trying to pull myself away from the computer but not being all that successful right now, but oh well.

Thanks Alpha! Not much happening with me this week. I missed work last Monday because I had insomia the night before. Work as a whole has been going better now also! I think I am almost all caught up in my forums reading. I might head out later but not sure yet if I will though.

Hi Trishy, I do not have a whole lot planned. I will very likely do a little shopping tomorrow, but that is about it though.
