The "Obama=messiah" meme really started after this Rolling Stone cover back in March. Jan Werner has been very outspoken about his support of Obama.

NONONONONONONO! You got it all wrong! The only mention of a messiah on that cover is in the lower left hand corner where it says "ERIC CLAPTON" and some other shmoe Steve something or other.

Well, my point wasn't the term "messiah" but the photo itself, with Obama having a definite, ethereal 'glow' around him. Kind of like iconic paintings of Jesus.
