I really feel the Down Syndrome people I've met throughout my life and my favorite. They just don't seem to see the ugly in the world! My son's dentist treated special needs kids ... a girl about 13 came to me and ask me if she could hug me. That lil girl was full of love. I looked up and told her she had made my day!

This reminds me of a young woman who has Downs, yet she's a missionary. She served in YWAM, and other countries and is getting ready to go to another missionary trip now. Listen, these people can do these things, even better than normal people. They do have the drive and to read about this young lady being homecoming queen is an inspiration to others that these challegenged people can do anything and people should be encourging them to go outhere and impower themseves and not let society dictate to them that they cannot do it.

ORIGINAL: Ps103 Folks, this is one of the few uplifting threads in this folder. Please don't ruin it with political junk. Take it to the ELection folder or M&E, please. As a father of an adopted special needs (Prater Willie), this was very special. Thanks for posting it. And I agree that those teens are tops. Beauty is not the barbie grouping. I agree that I have never met a mean DS person. It's like they are endowed with agape. Thank you for that post, and bless you for adopting a child with prader willie..that is a really hard disorder to handle.

I used to work with a lady who had Downs Syndrome. She was/is always so polite and sweet and loves doing some work. One of the supermarkets near me employs a lady with Downs Syndrome (could be more, I don't go to that store very often) and she's great too ~ she's always cheerful and makes really funny comments to me when I stop her packing my shopping with 'their' bags, when I have my own (and haven't been fast enough to get them out. Have to admit, I really loved watching this last night.
