Canucks won last night against Edmonton 6-3.

Question though did anyone see the Leafs-Senators game on Saturday Night? Chris Neil got a 10 Minute Missconduct and didn't see what he actually did

Canuck Report for u. Lost Tuesday Night against Boston. We would of won but Tim Tomas stood on his head. Plus when the Bruins got the lead they played defencive hockey.

Won last night against the kings though.

Canucks and Ducks had a shoot out of a game with the Canucks winning on the 13th Shooter in the shootout 7-6

The Canes laid an egg in DC last night in allowing two goals in the final three minutes to lose 3-2. Tonight they face the Sens in what will not be an easy game as due to injury a good number of Rats have been called up from Albany.

The Canes eked out a hard-fought 2-1 victory over the Sens tonight. Interesting fact was the two goals were scored by D-men: Corvo and Siendenburg.

The Canes have lost three out of their past four games. The last two being soundly outplayed by the Caps and the Thrash at home. They are on pace to finish with the number of points as last year which left them two points out the playoffs. This left the Canes the only team to win the Cup and then miss the playoffs two years in a row.

Needless to say, Caniac Nation isn't happy and cries are begining to rise for Lavi's scalp. B/C of missing the playoffs, the Canes did not qualify for revenue sharing thus causing STH prices to increase. If the Canes don't get things turned around by Thanksgiving, Stormy may become the new head coach.

Looks like the Sharks and Kings will be wearing their third jersies this weekend. The Sharks "Black Armor" looks pretty cool. I haven't caught a glimpse of the Kings one yet. New jersies can't make the Kings play any better and, hopefully, not worse.

After losing games in a row, the Canes have now won three in a row. Eric Staal came out of slump and scored his first hat-trick of the season.
Sergi Samsonov is also coming out of his slump. When Justin Willliams gets back into one of line rotations, the Canes have a chance to be a contender for the Eastern Conference.

I saw it. It's silly looking, but the Sharks 3rd jersey is pretty good.

I'm glad that after giving it a year off (why I don't know) that the Blackhawks have brought back their black third jersey this season.

Go Hawks!

After playing a solid game on Friday night, the Canes went AWOL (0-8 on the powerless play) and lost 5-3 at home to the Preds.

In terms of third jerseys the Canes introduces theirs this year and it is pretty cool.

You mean, like the team that's wearing them?

I'll take your word for it. I haven't been following the Kings this year.

However, the Hawks play them this coming weekend (Nov 28) at the end of their current road trip, so I'll get a look at LA then.

The Canes are now mired in another three-game losing streak. Their power-play is powerless. They continually give up the first goal and have to play from behind.

Their Captain plays with grit but as if the best days are behind him. Staal is often a no-show and takes stupid penalties. Their best player is a third-liner by the name of Chad LaRose.

The NHL season so far has a few surprises early on.

Who'd have thought Dallas, Toronto and especially Ottawa would be sub-0.500 teams?

The Southest division so far is the worst with 3 out of 5 teams with losing records so far.

GO Sharks!!!! I didn't think you'd be league leaders!! 5 point ahead of the 2nd place Rangers (Boo!!) and 7 points ahead of the Mighty Red Wings!

Go Ducks!!!

Sharks in first, undefeated at home.

We went to the Shark Tank to watch the dismantling of Toronto. A 5-2 blowout, a short-handed goal by Pavelski, and a defeat for the former SJ coach!

Great move, getting Blake and Boyle on the team!

Anaheim has some catching up to do The Ducks come into town in a week, and we face the Red Wings in two weeks on the road.

The Canes axed the coach who took them to the Cup and brought in the former coach who took them to the Cup Finals. Both had a history of "losing their team."

In Coach Mo's debut the Canes backup goalie (the starter is out with a groin pull) couldn't stop a beach ball and gave up 5 goals on the Pens first 15 shots.

Their Captain is a -20 for the year and Eric Staal who is being paid a cool 8 mill a year has only 8 goals, three of these being empty net goals. Other than the night he had a hat trick, he has been a disapointment.

The Canes managed to get a PP goal last night but it isn't enough to lift them out of 29th place in the NHL. They are sitting on the edge in 8th place but many teams below them have games in hand, so soon they can slide to 12th place.

Tampa Bay's development of prospects is stunted. A historic incident in the AA-level ECHL with the Lightning's developmental club in Augusta (GA) shutting down not even midway through the ECHL season has left the Bolts without a place to put further development of players if there are too many players in AAA-level Norfolk.

Here's a quick list of developmental cities:

ECHL - NHL team
Anchorage (2006) - St. Louis
Bakersfield - Anaheim
Charlotte (1996) - NY Rangers
Cincinnati (2008) - Montréal and Nashville
Elmira - Ottawa
Fort Myers - Carolina and Florida
Fresno - Chicago
Duluth (GA) - Atlanta
Boise (2004, 2007) - Dallas
Johnstown - Colorado and Columbus
Las Vegas - Calgary
Biloxi (1999) - Philadelphia
Ontario - Los Angeles
Phoenix (US Airways Center) - San Jose
Reading - Toronto
Charleston (1997, 2001) - Washington
Stockton - Edmonton
Trenton (2005) - New Jersey (Devils own AA and AAA clubs)
West Valley (UT) - NY Islanders
Victoria (BC)- Vancouver
Wheeling - Pittsburgh

Tampa Bay (following Augusta's demise), Glendale, Minnesota, Boston, and Detroit to not have affiliates in the ECHL. Detroit will have one in 2009 when Toledo returns to play following the opening of the new arena.

Because of ECHL rules on the salary cap, there is an incentive to affiliate. Dayton (OH) does not have an affiliate.

Canucks Finally Got Matt Sundin. Took him long enough to decide though. With Louie out we need a guy who can put the puck in the net and hopefully that is Sundin.

Major disappointments--

Toronto

Dallas

Carolina

Los Angeles seems to be most improved, but they are facing an uphill battle just making the playoffs. They lost last night to a hot Cotoyes team which needs financial help--From the NHL.

With Teemu possibly sidelined until Feb 2009, the Ducks have a rough road in the Pacific Conference.

Vancouver could have used Sundin on Tuesday. SJ embarassed Cory Schneider

And the Sharks are still undefeated at home! Tonight, we take on St Louis...

The Canes have just continued their mediocracy from last year. Even a coaching change to a Maurice-Francis tag team will not pull them out of the doldrums.

Their aging lionheat of a captain, is -26. Cam Ward is continually improving as a goalie. Staal will have a good game but there are games when it seems he believes hockey is a non-contact sport.

The Caps are a scary good team and it will take a break-down on their part and a Canes surge for the Canes to catch them. If the Canes haven't made the move by the end of January look for a fire-sale move of their UFAs
