I always thought that I hated asparagus because all I'd ever been exposed to was the canned stuff. [:'(] I had freshed grilled asparagus at a restaurant and discovered that I like the "real" stuff. It's really good sauted in a little butter & lemon juice; or as others have stated, with a little olive oil. I've had it with olive oil & fresh lemon, roasted in a convection oven, too, it was delicious. (Definitely remove the woody ends, as Laura mentioned, before cooking.)
