The front page of MSN had a nice article on NCIS today. If you haven't seen it yet, here is the link:

Great article. They hit exactly on why I like NCIS - it's not a deep, serious crime show like some. It's more lighthearted and also focuses on the characters, not just the crime.

Yahoo!! She's ba-ack... and so's Gibbs! This should be good!

Tonight's epi was another good one for fleshing out characters... and Tony's ear itching was classic :)

I like the new guy. I'd like to see him as a regular character.

So, looks like Gibbs doesn't think Parker (was that his name?) was the bad guy, from the way he put him up on the "fallen heroes" wall. It looks like he might be suspecting Lee. And the preview for next week - woo hoo!

His name was Langer. That was interesting how now he's getting suspicious.

Man, a bank robbery to cover up a murder! Whodathunkit?!

If it wasn't for Ducky's profiling (he's been married 4 times LOL) about having doubts in his own ability, he might still be ignoring his 'gut'... but now things are about to get rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrreal interesting. It would also help if she wasn't walking through the place all paranoidlike (looks until the other does, then looks away, etc)

Yeah, she's gotta be one of the most paranoid spies I've seen. How could she have gotten away with it for so long if she acted like that the whole time?

I did wonder why the directer called her into his office to ask her that simple question. That question could've been answered with a quick phone call.

I think you're thinking of the name of the character the actor played on another show called Seven Days Man I miss that show!

Hmm. No, never saw Seven Days. It was a name I pulled up, probably a combination of Langer and Palmer.

Yeah, good show. Way to go Abby, she figured out all the money burned up, thus making it not really a bank robbery. And yep, Gibbs knows now. He knows his gut wasn't wrong in picking Langer. Next week will be good.

I loved the way the new guy stopped the car at the funeral, playing like the lady's grandson, and then making sure she was not in the line of fire. Pretty smart guy, and brave. Gibbs was impressed. Sounds like the new guy is not staying? I also liked his story of why he wanted to be an NCIS agent.

I like the new guy too. I hope they have him in future episodes. Do you suppose the agent who cleared his dad was Gibbs?

I don't think Gibbs is quite old enough to have been the one, though it did cross my mind. I got the impression that the new guy was either a baby or not yet born when it happened.

Maybe he will be a recurring character, and we'll see him from time to time. That would be good, too.

I don't know that Lee was so paranoid until she got the feeling that Gibbs was keeping an eye on her. She knows how good Gibbs is, so if she thought he might be on to her, she would have reason to worry.

I wondered if it was Gibbs, too, but figured he was too young. Wasn't Gibbs in the Marines (or was it Navy? Argh) during Vietnam? And yeah, the new guy said that if his dad hadn't been cleared, he'd have never met the new guy's mom and had him.

You know, since the first SPY episode, I've wondered why McGee wasn't asked to trace and see all calls on their phone thingies. Lee has text on hers, surly McGee and Abby can hack like they do and read all text. Seems if they know a spy is in there, even before Langer was killed, they would do this. I know they were doing checking on each of them, but can't understand why not phone communications. Maybe they are doing it right now....in prep for next week.

I was kind of hoping that was to prove to 'us' that he was 'worthy' of being around, so they can start using him somehow...

Boy, I remember that show. Every time I see him, no matter what show, it's Frank Parker. BTW, his real name is Jonathan LaPaglia.

That would be Anthony LaPaglia's (Without a Trace) kid brother.

Gibbs served in the USMC during Desert Shield and Storm. I forget which episode it was mentioned in. Here are some other areas he served based on different episodes.

From Wikipedia:

quote:

Gibbs's age has never been revealed, but it was shown in the sixth season episode "Heartland" that he was born in rural Stillwater, Pennsylvania. His father, Jackson Gibbs, owns a store in the same town. It has been mentioned in "Frame Up" that Gibb's father was possibly in the U.S. Air Force. He is apparently named after his father's friend, Leroy Jethro, who was his business partner in the store after having worked together in the coal mines. The younger Gibbs left Stillwater in 1976 at the approximate age of 18 - 20 and, according to his own statements, did not return for over thirty years.

Yup too young to have been in Vietnam.

From IMDB:

quote:

An experienced former U.S. Marine scout sniper who served in Operation Just Cause and Operation Desert Storm and reached the rank of Gunnery Sergeant, Agent Gibbs is a highly skilled investigator and interrogator endowed with virtually infallible intuition. He uses these skills to his advantage while working on a case. He also tends to think out of the command structure if that helps him.

During his service in the USMC, Gibbs earned a Purple Heart for a head wound suffered during Desert Storm. Gibbs' awards include Silver star, Purple Heart, Marine Corps Commendation Medal, Combat Action Ribbon, Navy Unit Commendation, Navy Meritorious Unit Commendation, Marine Corps Good Conduct Medal, Marine Corps Expeditionary Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbon, Navy and Marine Corps Overseas Service Ribbon, United Nations Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal (Kuwait), and Kuwait Liberation Medal (Saudi Arabia).

No kidding, seriously?! I didn't know that. Now that you mention it I do see a resemblance. Cool! Wait till I tell DH
