Well, I've decided that I need my own thread in PFY ... after all "the other posters are doing it".

I've been told I have a problem ... excessive tea drinking. I don't view this as a problem. Now, eating Krispy Kremes -- THAT would be a problem, as I find them to be (sorry Kerrlaw and Santa!)

So here is a spot for everyone to come celebrate the wonder which is tea ... and to hang out and have fun with those of us who drink it!!! (Although if I find any of you dancing on the tables or chairs after one too many cups, I'm making ya switch to herbal for a week!)

A Krispy Kreme would go a long way toward making hot tea palatable to me.

No one said the tea absolutely *had* to be hot ... I like iced tea as well (especially with a sprig of mint in it)

Okay .. I'll allow you to bring your own Krispy Kremes in here ... but if I see you squishing them into a ball and throwing them at people, I'll send Phosy after you ... she can haul you away to a correctional centre!!!

I love iced tea with a meal in restaurants, with lots of lemon and artificial sweetener from the little pink packets.

Oddly enough, we never make it at home.

You never make it at home??? Now *that* is a crime!! Will you be representing yourself, or should the courts appoint a lawyer for you??

You know what they say about a lawyer that represents himself.

At home my drink of choice is Diet Sunkist Orange, although I also drink Lipton Diet Green Tea with vinegar.

I drink ice tea all year round. And it is unsweetened tea.

I'm really hoping Kerrlaw meant apple cider vinegar instead of the other stuff. At least ACV has a bit of a pleasant taste when mixed into drinks. The other stuff--

I drink ice tea--sweet--all year long. Like it w/a bit of lemon. Also drink green tea with honey and ginger--buy it by the gallon. Never heard of vinegar in tea-sorta sets my teeth on edge to think on it. When it is cold outside (or cold inside which in winter it is at work) I like Irish Breakfast tea and Lady Grey.

I don't know you, Kara, but I love tea. I drink it hot, without sugar or cream, regardless of the season. Sadly, I've discovered that caffeine, early in the day, will keep me awake at night and decaf tea in the evening will do the same. So I allow myself one very strong cup of black tea if I get up early enough and after that I switch to decaf for the rest of the morning and herbal after lunch. I still haven't found an herbal tea that sings to my taste buds.

My favourite tea has been Earl Grey and the best brand I've tried is Murchie's but that brand isn't easily available here so I settle for Twinings (though the bags tend to leak). Unbagged, loose tea leaves is the best but I could never find a good system to use them when I was drinking a couple of litres of tea a day. Now that I'm having just one cup, it's easier.

I've been blessed with children and friends who travel and know my penchant for tea and so the gift that's always brought back for me is tea (though never Earl Grey--I guess because no one has visited England yet). My eldest son was in Turkey earlier this year and I'm quite enjoying the Turkish tea. I would buy it myself if I could find it. A very good friend spent four months in Nepal this year and brought me back some loose Darjeeling in an intricately carved wooden box which, though grown in India, is grown in an area that is populated by Nepalese. I'll work my way through that when the Turkish tea is gone. Two years ago my eldest son was in China and brought me back a cake of green tea wrapped in silk and placed in a beautiful chest. You need an ice pick to break off a chunk and it's very, very, potent. I guess I'll tackle that after the Darjeeling--unless my second son brings me some tea from Germany when he returns next week.

Meanwhile, I'm still hunting for that elusive, never-had-caffeine "tea" that I can actually enjoy.

Heh, a Tea drinker's thread.

Good to see there are a few others around.

I personally cannot *stand* the taste of coffee. It's much too bitter for me, but tea, with a bit of sweetness is great.

Coffee is my drink of choice, however, when I finish my pot off in the morning, I switch to Arizona Sweet Tea or green tea that I buy by the gallon. I drink this until after dinner when I start on the coffee again. In the winter, I switch to herbal hot tea during the day.

I had it rudely brought to my attention this morning that I simply cannot function normally without a cup of tea (caffeine or otherwise) ... I was in a hurry this morning, and had to go out BEFORE I had a chance to even boil water for a cup of tea. Know what happened?? I ended up falling down my veranda steps ... hit every one on the edge going down. I was SOOOO happy I wasn't carrying the babe!

Since coming home, I am now on cup #3 and feel sooo much better!! (Although my chiropractor is going to have a field day with me on Monday morning!)

Yay, a tea drinkers' thread!

I love tea! I enjoy iced tea but really like it hot (but for me it does depend on the weather...I don't drink much hot tea during the summer).

AND...I LOVE a good English tea party! Now, those are fun!

Some of the best tea I've ever had was unsweetened and didn't need anything added.

I'm with you Betty....

I personally like mine Iced and sweetened with natures own...just plain ole sugar!!!
We make it occassionally at home but I usually order it when we eat out. Some places I would strongly advise to stay away from what they call sweet tea!!! My favorite places I love to order their tea is Wendy's, Chick fil-a, and Cracker Barrel!!! Cannot go without a Krispie Kreme when the "Hot Now" sign lights up!!! Just cannot resist no matter how hard I try!

Okay...I like hot tea too but not in the summer...I started drinking hot tea when I lived in Phosyland!
