Well I just listened to a sermon online from this great teacher. He is on the Christian radio station here and I caught a bit of it in the car the other day so I went back and listened to it all online just now. It was GREAT!
It was about Eph 4:1-6 about unity and peace and abou the 4 virtues that when practiced will bring unity and peace to any relationship (but he refered to marriage alot). So having humility, meekness, patience, and forebearing love. I know I have trouble with all of those (I think we all would hey?). I really like when he said about humility that how can a marriage have unity when both have pride, both think they are right all the time. EXACTLY!! So yes, someone does have to humble themselves, which I am doing hey? Meekness he described as when you want to take revenge but you help instead, when you have the power to destroy someone who destroyed you but you build them up, when someone has hurt you and you have the power to hurt, but you heal. So yes, I need to do that too. I think I have been lately, so I just need to keep doing it. Patience, well I KNOW I am impatient. So I need to not give up on God's promises. And the final one forbearing love, well I don't always have the agape type of love it speaks about. Then he said to ask God each day for help doing those things and practice them and there will be unity and peace.

There's a phrase that's popular around here that your post reminded me of, but I can't remember how it goes exactly!! My paraphrase: Marriage isn't a 50%-50% deal between husband and wife, but we have to give 100% each for it to be it's best. That always reminds me to give more than is "fair" no matter what % dh gives.

That's a good reminder Zippy.
Thanks Trish :)

Had a hard day yesterday. He was snippy and snappy, and I was just over everything so I did snap back once instead of taking the higher ground. I have been learning alot of from the DNA book, its just so hard to keep putting it into practice.

Hate days like that, Nicole. Just keep at it. Did you apologize for snapping back?
