I love to sleep in a cold room snuggled under a blanket or two, but in the summer months it costs too much to accomodate my wishes so I usually end up in a cooled room (air set to 70*, plus two fans blowing on me) under a light blanket. I like to have the sheets tucked in at the bottom but hubby doesn't (he's 6'2" and we only have a full size bed) so I've learned to live with that. I have to have the sheets and covers and pillowcases all straight, even, and smooth or I can't sleep. I can tell if the blanket is off center because the weight distribution on my body is wrong. The blanket and sheet have to be even at the top, and in the right place (i.e. not all bundled up on my neck) or it makes me crazy. I go to bed around midnight, on school mornings I get up at 6 to get the kids up for the bus, then I lay back down after they're off to school and doze until the youngest gets me up - usually around 8 or 8:30. The mornings that hubby is at home and gets up with him, I sleep in until 9:30 or 10. I used to stay up until 2 - 3 am and sleep until 11 or later, but once we had more than one child that just wasn't possible anymore. I have to sleep on my side, no two ways around it. I sleep with two pillows under my head, one in between my legs and "hugging" one with the arm that's on top, whichever way I'm laying. Hubby and I snuggle a little while we're dozing off, but for deep sleep we don't. I get too hot. We have to face the same direction in a spooning position since our bed is so small. So when one of us turns over, the other has to as well. ETA, meant to respond to this: quote:
Has anybody else ever got subtle or not so subtle hints from other Christians that it is somehow more spiritual to be up with the birds after a minimum of sleep?? Oh goodness YES. Not so much the 'after a minimum of sleep' part, but I catch a lot of flack for being a night owl. People automatically assume someone is lazy (which translates into "non-spiritual" for the Christianites) if they sleep late into the morning, even if overall they got no more sleep (or in some cases, even less) than someone who goes to bed by 10 pm and gets up at 6 am. Drives me crazy!
