ORIGINAL: SovereignIsHe Oprah is a racist... Surely if the colors were reversed this wouldn't be questioned... Come to think of it, would others say "no big deal, it's her show" if someone didn't want Barack Hussein on their show? Me thinks that host would be called a racist if they refused Barack on their show. Where have all of the feminists gone? Is this not a great time in history that we have the FIRST FEMALE on the GOP ticket? I guess it's race, not gender, that is the tie that binds.

ORIGINAL: ekserekseez The Fairness Doctrine will be reinistated by Congress, not McCain/Obama/Barr/Paul/Nader/Whoever. It can be reinstated by legislation (which must be signed by the President) or by a vote of the FCC. The 5 commissioners of the FCC are appointed by the President. To say the President has no impact is not correct.

Dubya: Thanks for the clarification. I did not mean to imply that the POTUS has no say in the issue; I meant that he cannot do it by individual mandate. My point was that some people (on both sides) have entirely unrealistic expectations about what the president can do: he will stop all abortion, he will raise taxes, he will get us out of Iraq, he will reduce carbon emissions worldwide, etc. ect. ect. Then they're horribly disappointed that they don't do these things. Rather than going on Oprah, Palin should go on Ellen. Or Maury. And so should Biden.

ORIGINAL: stonek I don't see any reason future VP Palin would need to go on Oprah. Oprah is an Obama backer, so not really a good idea anyway. Oprah is a vocal Obummer backer. She is not hiding her bias. Having Barracuda on would be a no-win deal for the Big O.
