People who are in favor of the murder of unborn babies are going to lecture Sarah Palin on her mothering skills? Must be one of those things that makes you go "Hmmmmm..."

I don't know whether it is a white thingy or not, but I do believe that many on the left hate her because she challenges what thier idea of a modern liberated woman should be. It is funny. I am on a forum and read many blogs that are very liberal feminist (because I am interested in natural birth and natural mothering). If Palin were a liberal woman running with Obama, pro abortion, pro sex ed, and all that, they would absolutely slobber all over her. And you've hit the nail on the head. Many democrats don't like her because of her politics. I think that's perfectly legitimate reason to be opposed to anyone. Male or female makes no difference to me, and I couldn't care less about how many children she has, but I (and many other moderates like me) will judge her based upon her stance on the issues and her competency to lead - just as I will judge McCain, Obama and all the rest. quote:
I have heard comments from some women (Newscasters) that her hair is 20 years out of date, that she was dressed like a '50's school marm, etc. The professional news female critics gather like a pack of female dogs. So? I heard similar nonsense about Mrs. Clinton when she first came on the scene. Didn't matter that she was a democrat. quote:
IMO, Palin is very clever and smart, but comes across as being almost obnoxious. I kinda agree. I think she has a good brain in her skull, but I wasn't that taken with her when I heard her speak. One quote I heard about her speech was "short on substance, tall on smugness and mockery", but I'm withholding final judgment until the VP debates.

I don't like her because she's rude. And promotes division like everyone else in this election. About the patrio-centric crazies and BJU. I live in the same city as that school. There's a local joke here..."Why don't BJU students have sexual intercourse? Because it encourages dancing."

I kind of feel sorry for her. She's being used and I'm not sure she knows it. At this point, she's a symbol, a mascot, a cheerleader nothing more. But she's a pretty good one, I must admit. - Julius

There are better ways she could've made the point she was trying to make, but what she said just made her look petty. And the comment about the difference between a mascot and a hockey mom? Oh please, it's very cutsie, but couldn't she have something more mature and substantial to say? This is the potential VP of the US, not a woman running for Pres of the school PTA.

I think Palin after only being announced as the the running VP 5 days prior came out and made the very best of all the people who had been slamming her. She added some really good humor to all the folks who had quickly disqualified her, judged her, her family and they are still doing it. So, I ask you how many of you were outraged by the treatment she recieved before she even made her speech? Before any of us even had half a chance to even discover more about who she was she was being slammed by the left and the media. Now the problem is that even media folks who didn't like her ended up saying she knock it out of the park with her speech. Now the problem is liberals are scared. Why? Because she tears down the image of women being feminist and proabortion, she is a woman leader, loves her husband, she has 5 children including a special needs child and she is prolife. That is very scary to have a prolife woman VP who actually kept her special needs child rather than aborting like the feminist promote doing. Many woman and men like her on top of it, because she is real.

Not everyone is saying that, though she did get a lot of praise, I'll grant you that. I still didn't like certain things I saw in her speech (I'm still free to say that, aren't I?) And before her speech there were folks who talked about her record, her politics, things like that. She's a public figure with a public record of work. It's perfectly acceptable to critique those things before her convention speech. quote:

I'm a pro-life feminist, and I know many, many, many women who are just like me, so kindly do not continue to spread right-wing ignorance that all feminists just want to slaughter babies.

No one I know would "promote" aborting...what we "promote" is every woman have the choice to decide whether to continue her pregnancy or not. Because Sarah chose to keep hers does not make her better, more special, or especially more qualified to be VP. It simply means SHE GOT TO CHOOSE. We don't dislike her because of HER, we dislike her politics. I cannot understand why the right can't separate the two. Her politics are not HER personally. Get over it - she's out there in the dirty slimy political machine and she is fair game. Stop whining about people "hating" her just because they question her politics and experience.
