The reason why you're checking on it is b/c deep down inside there's a little piece of you that's wondering, What if God doesn't do it? Unfortunately, religion teaches us that maybe God won't take care of stuff, that He might say no!! That little gem of man's knowledge digs deep inside us and stands in the way. Not to mention folks who let us down each day. but His word says, He will, He promised to take care of us. I suggest each time that little voice questions, what if? you grab His word and find a verse that promises He'll do something and confess it and thank Him for it. the bible isn't just a history book or something God did b/c He was bored, it's Him talking to us. The more you do this, the more you will trust Him and the more you'll stop checking on things. kim quote:
ORIGINAL: norajm How do I learn to leave things to God? When I pray and talk to God I have a tendency to check on things. I know he is going to take care of what I am asking him for according to His will but I have a tendency to still think about it, wonder if it has happened yet and if it is something I can check on I will. How do I stop that? Stop the thinking about it and checking on it.That is part of my personality even though I know HE will handle it. I have always been the take charge, figure it out type but recently I feel that I am doing something wrong when I pick up the phone or log onto the computer to see if something has happened yet.
