I was wondering how often or if you have ever doubted your salvation. Feel free to comment.

I say never as of 2003. Thats when it finally hit me about the great difference between living in Grace as apposed to Law. i've been spending the last 5 years undoing the previous 17 years of Legalistic Christian teaching. Man, is life a heck of alot sweeter knowing God Loves me and is crazy about me because of what Christ did on the cross, not because of anything i could ever do....

Nope.

1) I believe in Romans 10:9-10, so I know I'm saved.
2) I believe in incorruptible seed.

So I'm 110% sure I'm saved!

PopsiLufsJesus -> RE: Have you ever doubted your salvation (9/2/2008 9:08:46 PM)

I've doubted many times. I'm learning though...

armydude -> RE: Have you ever doubted your salvation (9/2/2008 9:13:13 PM)

Have I doubted? Yes. But my Heavenly Father has loved me enough to remind me that He still loves me.

PopsiLufsJesus -> RE: Have you ever doubted your salvation (9/2/2008 9:14:44 PM)

Way to make your doubt look good...:))

I tried.

armydude -> RE: Have you ever doubted your salvation (9/2/2008 9:34:17 PM)

I can't. When I have doubts, I'm definitely not the ideal person to be around. But God can make these things better. Not just make them look better, but make them better.

PopsiLufsJesus -> RE: Have you ever doubted your salvation (9/2/2008 9:35:00 PM)

True dat!

makarizo -> RE: Have you ever doubted your salvation (9/2/2008 9:35:04 PM)

I have never doubted about my salvation.
I have doubted myself, been upset with decisions I have made, messed things up. .... have doubted myself, but never doubted Jesus.
I know that even after we are saved, we still have to sit in the beema seat of Christ.

2Ti 1:12 ........ for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day.

PopsiLufsJesus -> RE: Have you ever doubted your salvation (9/2/2008 9:39:00 PM)

Could you explain the beema seat. I have heard about it before, but don't quite remember.

LCannon -> RE: Have you ever doubted your salvation (9/3/2008 12:15:33 AM)

I've never doubted His salvation or my appropriation for I came in 'reasonable response' to the same. The 'bema' judgment(throne), as opposed to the Great White throne judgment, is the point of a redeemed soul standing before Christ to have my(our)works(obediences) 'tried with fire' to see if they're worthy for personal rewards.

PopsiLufsJesus -> RE: Have you ever doubted your salvation (9/3/2008 12:18:40 AM)

oh thanks :)

Covaan_Meshuga -> RE: Have you ever doubted your salvation (9/3/2008 12:24:32 AM)

The church I used to be in taught that if we made the slightest blooper, we lost our salvation, so I doubted it all the time, because I had a tendency to make a lot of bloopers -- some slight and some a lot bigger. In time, wile attending there, I came to realize that if they were right, a whole lot of them were going straight to hell without passing go or collecting their $200. That was really scary. Once I left there, I had a real hard time letting go of their understanding.

Since then, I have begun to understand the Bible a lot more. I no longer doubt.

PopsiLufsJesus -> RE: Have you ever doubted your salvation (9/3/2008 12:27:29 AM)

Abiyah,

I am glad that you have come to the place where you no longer doubt. I, too, have been to many churches with the same condemning notions. I'm still learning though. I haven't come to the place where I completely lack doubt about the topic.

PopsiLufsJesus -> RE: Have you ever doubted your salvation (9/3/2008 12:36:29 AM)

Man, I thought when I hit 500 post I became a senior member...booo

PopsiLufsJesus -> RE: Have you ever doubted your salvation (9/3/2008 12:37:38 AM)

Oh my bad, never doubt!

Thessa -> RE: Have you ever doubted your salvation (9/3/2008 12:55:53 AM)

Yes i did. It was weird cause right after i got saved a few members of the church told me that satan would try and tell me i wasnt saved and that it was a lie and they were right. I just rose above it. God is all power. I know better. I know i was saved, regardless of what the evil one tries to say.

PopsiLufsJesus -> RE: Have you ever doubted your salvation (9/3/2008 1:00:03 AM)

as the Word says, YES AND AMEN. AMEN and AMEN.

Gazingstock -> RE: Have you ever doubted your salvation (9/3/2008 3:05:15 AM)

I thank God I have not doubted my salvation. Although to do so is natural. I have struggled with other elements of doctrine. Some truths are not made clear without diligent patience. Both of which are difficult to maintain genuinely:

For if our heart condemn us, God is greater than our heart, and knoweth all things. Beloved, if our heart condemn us not, [then] have we confidence toward God. And whatsoever we ask, we receive of him, because we keep his commandments, and do those things that are pleasing in his sight.

And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment. And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him, and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us.
-1Jo 3:20-24

URForgiven -> RE: Have you ever doubted your salvation (9/3/2008 9:57:57 AM)

I doubt myself all the time, but I have never doubted Jesus Christ, who is my salvation.

Peace

AboundinginHisGrace -> RE: Have you ever doubted your salvation (9/3/2008 10:06:23 AM)

Do you think when God is calling someone to some type of ministry position, they sometimes doubt their salvation? I have been struggling with a calling for a while now and at first I was doubting my salvation, then I figured out God was calling me to do something I just do not know what yet. I was wondering if anyone else has had this happen?

PopsiLufsJesus -> RE: Have you ever doubted your salvation (9/3/2008 10:35:52 AM)

yes abounding, I have...

attack usually get stronger before any type of ministry position

AboundinginHisGrace -> RE: Have you ever doubted your salvation (9/3/2008 10:38:07 AM)

I think satan is trying to make you focus on something else other than your calling. God is convicting you to do something and satan is trying to mess you up and make you think it is something else.

PopsiLufsJesus -> RE: Have you ever doubted your salvation (9/3/2008 10:54:26 AM)

yep exactly

deermousie -> RE: Have you ever doubted your salvation (9/3/2008 11:13:48 AM)

Yeah, I doubted it on occasion, especially after sinning and wondering if God wasn't tired of forgiving me. It drove me back into the Bible, where I found:

11 And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12 He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life. 13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life, and that you may continue to believe in the name of the Son of God. 1 John 5

John 10:27
My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me

John 10:28
And I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; neither shall anyone snatch them out of My hand.

The John 10 verse especially tells me that if I want God it's because He has chosen me and calls me to Him. Spiritually dead people don't want God; in fact, they'll get as far away from Him as they can. My desire for God, however weak, is evidence that I belong to Him, and that He is where I need to go. Praise His gracious name forever for grace like this to sinners like me!
