Well, Howdy all. Long time "No See" LOL. I missed half of July and ALL of August, because I have been SO busy. I thought I hop into Sept, but my goodness it is only Sept 2nd and y'all have got 4 pages already . We are in the swing of school again(finished day 8 today). Greg is a Senior now and still unsure about college, whether to go away or stay home and go to community for a couple of years, take a year off and SAVE!!! or go to a Tech school. Not much else is going on around here. I of course am still working PT , but ya do what ya gotta do.

So how is everyone?

Ez I will so be praying for you guys...i cannot imagine what impact my honey being gone would have on me or my boys and especially not for an extended period...you guys are so in my thoughts...

well low and behold the move has been accelerated, why because of TS Hanna, we decided moving our stuff on Friday would be way foolish...best laid plans and all so we are actually moving all the big stuff tomorrow so it is now midnight and i just got home from dropping off a load of stuff, dh and the boys moved things all day...

but at least our friend who are helping us can help tomorrow on short notice!!

How did the interview go???

and thanks for the super warm welcome...

the only stinky thing is that until Monday the only place i will have internet is work...the cable company can't come hook it up until Monday, which was not a big deal when we were moving on Friday....so y'all keep praying...my sweet boys were all over the place today with anxiety, they are terrified some of there things will be gone because for them every move has been like that... But i know that after this move they will see it will be ok....

Yes, Mel, I join you in that, and am praying that every single thing that is precious to those boys, every thing that speaks love and stability to them, is right where it should be. Nothing is lost, taken, mis-placed, broken or harmed in any way.

Praying for safety and efficiency for the entire move as well!! (We have no TV at our Cincy house. We disconnected the cable so we did not have to pay the bill for 2 houses when we are not here very much. But this trip down is turning into 2 weeks, and it is VERY quiet here!)

Good morning, I was up at 5:40 this morning and now it is 7 and I feel tired. I can't decide if I should go take a nap, or take a shower.

We went to a homeschool picnic last night. It was sooooo nice to have the fellowship. I feel like they are our "church away from church". It is nice to be around other christians. Our church is nice.... but no one homeschools.

It is cold here today!!! Long sleeves and pants weather!

My dd has had a cold for 3 weeks now. Now, my other dd and husband have it. PRAY that Noah doesn't get it! He has a laser treatment on the 15th, but they will skip it if he has a cold.

dd and ds started speach thereapy. Between that, sports, and a homeschool play for dd..... I have places to go every day! I don't like that, but so far it is going smooth and not stressful

Gee thanks!

Internet is the only thing we have at Cincy house (plus phone as it is needed for internet/DSL). I am getting tons more done than I would if we had TV, but all news is second/third/fourth hand... feel kinda disconnected, but it is probably good for us... for a while!

Please pray, I cannot reach hubby this morning. Have tried for last 45 minutes... he should be getting ready for work and driving there... he goes in a 8am, and we only live a couple miles away. I am sure that he is fine, but I am a little scared. Thanks.

Just reached him - thanks!!

Yesterday, I had a migraine. Today I am neauseaus (sp?), and my head wants to hurt again.

I really have to get school going, but I want to go back to bed and sleep.

Where do you live? Can you send some of that cold weather my way?! LOL Supposed to be 92 today... I still need to finish sealing/staining the deck, planting grass seed and spreading straw, and I need to seal the "blacktop" driveway... not fun in the heat!

I am sorry to hear that you are not feeling well. When I get migraines, I get incredibly nauseous (thanks, spellchecker!) and become violently ill. It is almost worse than the headache most of the time. I am on 2 meds - one for headache, one for vomiting, etc. Had 2 trips to ER in middle of the night when I had my first 2 migraines... not fun.

Am praying that you feel better!!!!

(((Zoe))) - praying for you!

Debbie - great to see you back!! I can imagine things are hectic for you all! Pop in when you get a chance!

Mel - praying your move goes smoothly! It's hard on kids who don't have the history your boys have! I'll pray that they quickly see that nothing is missing & that the new house is "home"!

Annie - praying Noah (& mom) don't get the cold that is going around your house!

(((Ellie))) - praying you feel better soon!

Someone asked if we Okies were getting any remnants of Gustav. So far, we've had some wind (not unusual for OK anyway) and parts of our town have gotten rain, but none at my house. I think the Eastern part of the state got hit worse than we did. But it has cooled off quite a bit! Don't know how long that will last though!

Oh, that sounds awful!!

Hope your feeling better soon Ellie. I have cramps My cycles are still getting back to normal from after having Noah. I hope they do go back to normal.... . It is bad enough while normal, I'd hate for it to always be this way!! It gets so bad that I can't sleep at night because I don't want to lie down. (not the cramps, but everything)

That is why it has cooled off in Iowa, and we are suppose to get rain. And we live far away!

I hope cooler weather is on the way! Yesterday it was in the 90's and terribly humid. I had stuff to do, but it was too hot. I was hoping after sundown it would cool off. It never did. My run this morning was miserable. It was in the 70's already and foggy. UG!!!

Ds1's ingrown toenail has resolved. Ds1 was able to dig out the nail. He showed me the shard. No wonder it hurt!!! He will have surgery after this last race, though!

I got back from my run about an hour ago. I still haven't showered. And I'm a-stinkin'! Need to get school started sometime...

Annie - hope you're feeling better soon too! And get some sleep!

His - glad ds1 was able to get his toenail resolved! OUCH!! Praying the surgery helps them stay away!!

Well - I didn't get much done yesterday to get us started on school, but I'm determined to get things organized this morning!! We will get school started eventually - flexibility is one of the beauties of homeschooling right?

Yes, it is suppose to be. Most of the time it is . There are those times though when a person wonders if there is just a little bit too much flexibility and nothing ever gets done...

I hope your day goes smooth Amy and that things will fall into place.

I had a BUSY day yesterday and I kept Praising the Lord and telling my kids that God has made the day go so smooth and I was just so pleased!

Nate's boss man stopped by. He's running late this morning and told Nate he had time to get some schoolwork done before work, lol. Nate said, 'I'm reading right now!' and his boss didn't believe him, which cracks me up. Nate IS reading-he found a Frank Peretti book at the used bookstore the other day. But I will make him do some schoolwork soon.

Today is Excess day, which is where homeschoolers and nonprofits get to go to a warehouse and take what they want for free. I am going but might not bring much home as we don't really need much. It's all office stuff. I do need a new desk chair, though. Plus I will see people there. Your tax dollars at work--it's a government contractor who gives all this gently-used stuff away because they replace it all every year.

Jody enrolled Brandon in PS without telling me. I just chewed him out, mildly. I don't mind Brandon being in school. I really mind not being talked to first!

I had wondered if he wouldn't do that. I am sorry that he didn't talk to you first. That would really frost me.

I suppose I would be more angry if over the last week or so I haven't thought, 'why can't he just enroll him in PS' several times, lol. When we first discussed it, Jody didn't think it would be possible as they started school halfway through August over there. Apparently he was mistaken. And actually it's working out fine--he didn't miss anything, I guess, that we hadn't already covered. He did lose a year and Jody wants documentation for any credits he's already earned, but the problem is that he's earned a lot of partial credits, and those classes that he finished are not core subjects. He never gave me fits over PE but he gave me plenty over Algebra.

But yeah, he had no business doing that without at least letting me know. The only reason I know now is that Brandon told Nathan he was taking weight lifting as his PE credit.

And, of course, this furthers Brandon's impression that he's never coming back here, when it was supposed to be a temporary arrangement.

Jen, I did wonder about that because Brandon said something to Ash about going to school, but she thought she might have misunderstood. I would be ticked, too. I'm curious though - isn't Brandon at the age where he is able to choose which parent he lives with? I am wondering if a) you'd be able to force Brandon to come back if he didn't want to and b) if doing so might be counterproductive. Many years ago, my dh and I contemplated trying to get custody of my stepdaughter, but she did not want to live with us even though it would have been a much better environment for her. In the end, we decided not to because we felt there was a very real possibility she would run away, and she was better off where she was than somewhere on the streets.

It is hot and muggy here. I was out fixing fence for a bit but that was pretty short lived. Unfortunately my dh volunteered me for an errand which really doesn't make much sense - it isn't a huge deal because there is church tonight and it's sort of in the same ballpark, but that means leaving early for church, and then it will be getting dark by the time we get home. I won't be able to take advantage of the getting-cooler-but-still-light-out period.

In WA, a child can choose if they are over the age of 12 when the parents first divorce. If a parenting plan has already been put into place, then they have no say in the future.

I actually don't want to force him to come back here. But his father and I will decide what is best. Ideally, he will have a change of heart and want to, but then again, he might not. It'll all depend, and the arrangements right now are simply tentative.

It's probably really bad of me to laugh when I read news headlines like this, but Three horses killed in highway collision made me chuckle.

Nate asked if they'd been wearing seatbelts. Actually, though, they were just standing in the interstate!

A favorite past time at my husband's house when he was growing up was his dad reading the headlines of the newspaper while they all took them literally. "Car Hits Students" and stuff like that,.

We laugh at work because the complaints come up in abbreviated form in our call queue, no puncutation. So we'll get something like "103 rectal vomiting." Ummm, rectal vomiting? Now that sounds unpleasant.

I need to run through the shower so we can leave.
