I mostly agree with Cynthia. There are a few points where we would disagree, but I think they're pretty minor.

A husband is called to love his wife as Christ loved the church. That means laying down his life for her. Now most guys I know would say that laying down their life is no problem, they'd take a bullet for their wife if need be. But will they lay down the remote for her? Will they lay down the golf clubs for her? Will they really die to themselves, their wants and desires, and serve their wife? Jesus modeled servant leadership, and that's what it means for a man to lay down his life. Say that to your average man, and he will sputter. What about me? What about what I want? The thing is, we women respond to how we're treated. If a man is truly loving his wife, there are very few things she won't do for him.

Narnia, your husband is thinking only of himself. He's not considering you or what's best for your daughter. His behavior is abusive - not physically, but emotionally and spiritually. Unfortunately, most men don't see this on their own and won't change unless it becomes entirely too uncomfortable to continue in his present pattern of behavior. For some men, that means the wife has to leave for a time until he is able to make some changes.

My dh and I have had a bad relationship for most of our marriage, and I will tell you that all the begging, pleading, and praying on my part did absolutely nothing. He continued to be selfish, manipulative, and passive aggressive. Things began to change when I put my foot down and told him I was simply not going to do 30 more years of the same - that he would either get his act together and learn how to love his family, or he would find somewhere else to live. He took me seriously, and has grown by leaps and bounds. There is still a lot of stuff we need to work through, and being human he slips from time to time, but he has finally learned to hear me and put his family before himself. I wish I'd done it 20 years ago, but back then I was still being subject to the typical teaching on this subject - funny thing is that I knew in my heart that I was right, but I had no support.

ezri- #1 Yes, he would be lying. I was asked repeatedly about it and told them no, it was just too much stress. (Enough stress to cause a weird heartbeat, making me feel like I'm having a heart attack at least 3x/week, working shift so getting only 3 hr of sleep, failing PT tests because of a problem that needs surgery but supposedly wasn't worth a profile even though it could cause blood clots, and being told to not leave work to pick up a child with probable pneumonia.)
#2 Possibly, though many here send their children to church schools.
#3 Thanks for the info, I'll look at it but can rarely stomach even vitamins.

Oh, and yes I am a member of HSLDA (forgot who asked).

Better, I am so glad he'd be lying. I had to ask though. I hope I did not offend you, but it was important to me to know you were okay. I am also sorry you are working with a man that would lie about you in such a way.

Wow- I'd say stress! I'd go back to the doc and push the medical issue big time. Weird heartbeat and heart attack symptoms can = panic attacks or anxiety attacks. I have endured them. They are scary (but treatable) things. Sounds like you are being pressed because you are a female. a male would likely not be the one tapped to go get a sick child. You are not male and should not be treated as one even with you in uniform. Are you on your own? I think we have chatted a bit in the past but I am not sure.

The vitamins I mentioned don't have the same useless fillers and such as the stuff at WalMart. I hate the "smell" of vitamins, it usually turns my tum *Blah* and these actually have a vanilla scent and the smell alone makes me smile. I take them all three with breakfast. Breakfast is usually an egg sandwich and a Pepsi One and have rarely had any tum BLAHS with them.

I am dealing with some anxiety right now. I have talked myself down the 3 or 4 times it started up. I know the symptoms and have gotten to where I can usually close my eyes and pray and give it to God. It is strange because I keep picking it back up... over and over and over. He will get it through my head sooner or later that He is in charge and MUCH better at providing and protecting and loving and caring, and healing, and.... It is hard but when I focus on Him things ease up. When I fall back into trying to do it myself I find I am seriously hurting and lonely. Sure it still hurts and I am still lonely without my Honey but it is easier when I lay it down and let it go (no it isn't easy to lay it down. It should be but...)

Thank you for answering my questions- Again I hope that I have not offended you or overstepped. You are in my prayers for sure. ((((HUGS))))

That's alright I'm used to the question by now.
There are some panic attacks but I handle those decently, the heart thing is part of my heart trying to beat early or something. The Dr said it's not a problem unless I get some sort of heart disease but stress makes it worse and for some reason when mine gets worse it's painful (and they have no idea why).
Yes, I'm on my own. How big are these Levity things? I can barely get those little red sinus pills down.

I hope your anxiety attacks tone down for you and glad you're being able to recognize them.

I ordered the Levity Plus and am on the automatic program. I figure I'll give them a try and see if it helps. I don't think I'm depressed, but I think I'll give them a try anyway. I could use some levity in my life.

Okay- My sister has something like what you are describing. they went in and zapped a spot in her heart to stop it from firing off at random. She called it "riding the train" cause it would race for a bit and then slow back down. the racing part freaked her out though which again caused problems--- stress making it fire off again.

According to Jen the regular levity pills are smaller and you only take ONE. The Levity plus is a good sized pill and you take 3 of them. The Levity Plus is the same stuff in the smaller one a day pill PLUS all the vitamins you'd get in a women's daily multivitamin. The site says one tiny pill when refering to the regular levity. <-- link

One tiny tablet, brighter days! Levity is the all-vitamin formula that can Enhance Mood, Boost Energy & Cut Carb Cravings. In a recent study, Levity's ability to improve mood was comparable to antidepressant drugs -- yet it works naturally!

Levity is a unique combination of specific vitamins in specific doses for safe, natural daily support of a healthy mood. It can help with cases of mild depression, including seasonal affective disorder, menopause-related symptoms and other minor depressive conditions. You will feel the difference! You won't believe how a tiny supplement tablet can help you get on with life!

It says tiny a few times on the regular levity. The levity plus is a big pill and youtake 3 of them a day. The levity is one small pill.

I can't take all three at once. I usually do two and then one, or one with each meal. The instructions say maybe not to take them in the evening, but I have a sensitive tummy and have to take them with food, and have to space them out. This is true of the multi-vitamin but not the teensy regular Levity pills.

Btw, if you take the teensy Levity pill, and you are depressed, I would double up for two weeks. It's safe (the vitamins in that pill are safe at that level). There's no iron in there or anything.

Oh, Jennifer. I hope that job comes through soon. I feel bad about it.
Would you consider moving to Vancouver? Dh said that there are some jobs open at www.bpa.gov for clerical work.

I can't seem to get a government job, though. That's why I am not still at fish and wildlife. Anyone with military service or prior gov't service automatically kicks me out. I live in the middle of one of the biggest conglomerations of gov't agencies and sub-contractors anywhere, but it doesn't make a difference.

That may be changing. Keep trying. A lot of government employees are retiring and those jobs need to be filled.

Brandon has told Ash that he's not all that thrilled with school, but don't tell him I told you.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty funny. I think it's funnier that it apparently has not occured to Brandon that a) Ashley talks to me and b) she's more than ready to give him an attitude adjustment.

Thank you so much for that encouragement, Amy. I have written a lot on this subject, as I feel very passionate about it. I really do hope to write on it someday.
Cynthia - I'll be looking forward to getting my copy autographed!!!

Ez - can you stop the Levity Auto Ship program at any time? I saw something on there about putting it on hold, but it didn't say anything about quitting it. I may just be missing it. I ask because that is a really good deal, but I don't want to sign on for a year or something until I know they work for me. I know a lot of people swear by them, but I've found other things that worked for others & not for me, KWIM?

Better - I'm praying for you! Is it your immediate supervisor who is giving you such a hard time? Is there any possibility of you changing shops or getting another supervisor? I know sometimes asking causes more problems!

Jen - praying for your job here too! BTW - I was thinking the same thing that Narnia said. In 7th grade I had something the vice-principal called "schoolitis", I was so miserable at school that I literally made myself sick. An upset stomach was a lot of it! I did NOT have an easy transition from elementary school to Jr High! I really had no idea why I was sick, I didn't know it was stress etc... I wasn't "faking it", the symptoms just weren't from something physical.

Well, we had a busy day yesterday & we didn't get all of our work done (most of it but not all of it). Luckily, it's the 5th Tuesday, so we don't have MOPS today! That means we should be able to do some catching up! But I do need to make up menus & a list and go to the commissary! That always takes longer than I'd like it to. I used to have permanent menus that I would rotate, I need to redo those & start using them again. It makes the process a LOT easier!

Hi all Hope everyone has a good morning.

Amy-- A question if you don't mind. You were saying about permanent menus does that mean you would make like 4 weeks worth of menus and that is what you used all the time or if that is not it could you give me an idea of what you mean? Thanks a ton. I am trying to figure out ways to make things run easier.

I am off to my co-op today. I'm not feeling well. I feel like I swallowed a cactus. I should have known better then to sign a paper committing to be somewhere all the time.

Michelle - I do my big shopping 2xs a month (because that's when dh gets paid), so I make menus for the 1st - 15th and 16th - 31st. I have done just dinner menus or menus including all 3 meals & snacks. If you shop each week, you could do 4 or 5 weekly menus & then rotate. I also have left spots open in the past & put New Recipe (for us to try something new). I have thought of doing an ingredients list for each meal, but haven't gotten that far yet. I have printed my menus off & then laminated them (with clear contact paper). That way I can use a wet erase or dry erase marker to switch things around or mark days off if needed. Let me know if you have any other questions. I am not sure if I explained it well enough or not!

(((Ellie))) - hope you're feeling better soon! Wish I could come to your house for breakfast!!

You know, every so often it seems like nearly all of us get hit in some way or another. This is one of those times. Everyone is sick, or having family problems, or military problems, or all of the above. I think we all need to pray. I think the enemy is after us and our kids.

Re: Brandon being ill every Monday. Part of the problem is that he's not getting the sleep he ought to be getting. He is surviving on less than he needs during the week and then, instead of catching up on the weekend, he gets even less because there are so many things to do. I keep telling Jody that Brandon is a 10 hour a night kid.

Well, I don't have a job to go to. But after yesterday, I am not sure I am ready. I still tire quite easily. So tomorrow would be ok. Monday would also be ok. I really can't wait longer than that, though.

Annie, I have prayed for your brother. I am glad stuff is coming out, and I hope this protects him.

You know, Jen. The boy is in highschool, it's time for him to learn to get enough sleep on his own or suffer. I am a 10 hours of sleep person, always have been and probably always will be and while I have always been good about sleeping when needed, there was a point where my mom stopped telling me "it's 9pm, maybe you should think about heading to bed".

Well, I do hope he realizes. Jody said he was going to talk to him about it last night. Brandon ends up with pretty severe side-effects of not sleeping, but he has never been able to tell when he's tired. Because he tends towards hypoglycemia, and it feels the same as being tired, he thinks he's hungry. And since I am sure they are waking him up, or rather, the g/f is waking him up in time for school each day, he isn't having the problems he had in the summer when he'd miss swim practice because he'd stayed up too late and then sleep through his alarm.

ETA--not being able to eat except when the school allows is also probably causing him problems.
