quote:
While I certainly don't agree with the HOA's decision, nor would I personally choose to live in such a place (barring exceptional circumstances), it is part of the agreement for the homeowners there. If they are unhappy with it, they ought to move out. Personally, I'm not a fan of income tax, but I still pay it, because the governing bodies over me say I must While I do somewhat agree to this line of thinking, I am wondering though, if the homeowners actually put into a written contract the actual names of all banned vehicles. This truck was a 2007. Not a bad truck, practically brand new. A homeowners association crosses the line when they begin to dictate what vehicle a person can own and drive. This is not their place to do this and what effect is it supposed to have on the property values anyway? What are these people supposed to tell their guests who arrive in a less than desirable vehicle? "Sorry but our neighbors get offended at the sight of your particular vehicle, you can't visit unless you bring a cover for it." The importance of material wealth in some people, absolutely sickens me, this is one of them. It's the same situation with feeding the homeless in public. People don't want to see what horrifies them. If they don't have to see it, they don't have to deal with it. The really sad part is this is a nice truck. The HA is determining what is nice, what is acceptable, but I am more than willing to bet these people don't have near the amount of money in their bank that they want people to think they have. The truly wealthy don't flaunt their money, most often you can't ever even tell they have it.
