I was diagnosed this week with Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) and I begin chemo treatment next week. While these are hard words to hear, my faith is in God and I know He loves me and desires good for His children.

Regarding prayer requests, I will start with the big one; of course I want God to cleanse me of this disease, I don't want it. The peace I have received from Him so far is I am to walk this journey for now. How long that is I do not know and He isn't telling me so that's OK. It is enough to know He is holding me and taking each step with me.

My sons (24, 21, 19, 15, 6) are taking it hard, especially the middle three, they are scared and still processing this news. Please pray God grants them a peace while they come to an understanding in their own time. My wife is also hurting, but like me the news was actually better than we were expecting. From my symptoms and blood tests, we were anticipating one of acute types, which can really rip pages out of the calendar.

Lastly, pray that God enables me to be a vehicle of His glory and grace; for reasons that are unknown to me, He has set me on a course I would not have chosen for myself, but I trust Him and know that He is good.

Dear heavenly Father I lift up danpaul to you.
Thank you Lord for the faith and love he has in his life.
I pray Lord that you would heal him from this disease,in Jesus name.
I pray his body would be cleansed,and set free from all disease,in Jesus name
I pray Lord that whatever journey may lie ahead that it will be blessed by your mighty hand.
I pray Lord that you will be with this family and help each member to draw close to you.
I pray Lord they will seek their peace and refuge in your mighty love.
Help them Lord with their fears,doubts and their anger as they strive to find answers.
Draw them to you Lord.
I pray Lord you will strengthen them and give them abundant faith and hope as they walk with you through this situation.
Lord you are our Great Physician and you hold this in your hands.
I pray in anticipation and expectancy of your mighty healing to touch danpaul.

I am praying in agreement, and especially for the communication that has and will take place involving the whole family. May the coming days provide an ever-strengthening love in your family for one another, and of ever-deepening love for the Lord.

Lord God, please look down with mercy upon danpaul62. Please place your healing hands upon him so that this cancer might leave his body and that he might be fully cured. Bless him with doctors and nurses who will treat him with dignity and kindness in this time of need. May they be skillful and knowedgable regarding his disease and how to properly treat it. Guide them so that they can restore him to health and help him return to his life.

Lord, please also be with danpaul62's family. Comfort them and help them to understand what is going on with this man whom they all clearly love. Have mercy upon their hearts. Remove any spirits of fear or anxiety that they might have regarding danpaul62's condition, and instead replace it with a spirit of confidence in the doctor, a love of danpaul62, and of faith in you and your ways.

Lord God, please be with this entire family during this tribulation. Remind them aways that you are with them, no matter how dark things might seem to become. Surround them with other family members and friends who will support them and show them kindness and aid as they confront danpaul62's condition and treatment. Let people rise up who can be pillars for them to lean on when the going gets tough, and let them be able to cling to one another for support and reassurance and love. Most of all, God, show them your mercy, and give them all of your support as well. Help keep their faith in you strong, for when we have faith in you, anything is possible.

I pray all of this for danpaul62 and his entire family in the name of Jesus Christ, the Savior of this World.

Lord, thank you for the peace You have given danpaul62 during this time. Thank you for his strong faith in You. Lord, I pray for total and complete healing for him. I pray You would restore life to him. I also pray comfort and peace for his family. Do a miracle in his life Lord and let this bring glory and honor to You.

Thank you all for your prayers, I know Father hears and He cares. I als know this gift (yes gift) is allowed, and therefore actually designed by Him (Job 42:11) according to His plans and for His glory. I also know I want Him to heal me, I want to be well again. Ultimately we all receive our new bodies, and find that perfect health when we go home; Wayne Watson's "Home Free" speaks to this so well "some get up and walk away, some will find ultimate relief". Through it all, to God be the glory, Amen.

Today I go in for my first chemo treatment and I confess it is a little scary (but just a little:).

A cool development was yesterday I sent an email to some of my top clients informing them of the condition and my modified work schedule.

I was also able to share my testimony and the reality of God's sovereignty and goodness through this and I received not only some touching emails and phone calls, but was told by one client that members of their staff were talking about the words I wrote, so praise be to God and may His glory be proclaimed in and through our lives.

I ask you Lord to give him a calm,peace within as he goes to his treatment.
I pray Lord that you will help him to not have harmful or damaging side-affects.
I pray Lord that he will go through these treatments painlessly and filled with energy.
I pray Lord that you will heal all the blood cells and lymphatic system in danpauls body and restore his health,in Jesus name.
Lord watch over him and keep him in your loving arms.

I pray to our Lord God who is so mighty and amazing to lift up Dan and help cure him of this cancer. Please keep Your arms surrounding Dan's children and his wife and give them peace at this time. Lord, please also help Dan to keep his faith & trust in You at this difficult time.

I just wanted to provide an update; I had my first chemo treatment Wednesday and while it wasn't pleasant (I would rather have ice cream) it also wasn't as harsh as I have seen in others. In fact, by yesterday afternoon I felt great and today I feel better than I have in weeks. I am blessed and fully trusting in God in this and I thank you all for your continued prayers.

Lord I thank you for being with danpaul as he took his treatments.
I ask you Lord to watch over him and help him through this entire process.
I ask you lord to heal his cells and every area of his body,in Jesus name.
Lord I ask you to be merciful and keep his body from suffering any side-affects.
I pray he will be restored to health and his body will react to these treatments in the most positive way.
Thank You Lord for all you are doing for danpaul,thank you for the love and faith he has in you as his Savior.

Wow Dan...I lift you in prayer and stay in faith...this is only temporarily. You will def. be healed!! I decalre it in Jesus' Mighty and Holy Name. He's the Healer of all healers!! I declare you now---cleansed and purified from this disease. I also pray for comfort for you and your family.
