slimon11 -> How can we bless those like you? (8/30/2008 10:26:16 PM)

Hello, I am asking you to respond on behalf of those that may be in a similar position as you; maybe at work, or maybe you would like to respond as grandparent, bible study leader, newlywed, student....

What are some simple things people have done for you that have gone a long way?

What are some things you do that seem to often go unnoticed or unappreciated?

I find it odd to list things that i do that go unnoticed and unappreciated, because i dont know the mind of those i do things for, so how would i know if they went unappreciated?
The things that have been done for me that have gone a long way are things that ill never forget.
My late Grandpa taught me so many things about money and generosity and forgiveness and telling the truth and many other things. Most of which i learned just by watching him or hearing a story he told me. He didnt say like 'okay heres what you should do...' on most of the things, but seeing how he handled certain situations made me want to be a better person.
I think alot of the things ive learned though was by watching people in my life that did things that i didnt like and didnt approve of. I learned from them and their actions and words exactly what i didnt/don't want to become.

One person, in particular did the following for me: accepted me and loved me unconditionally. Was there when I needed to "vent"...and truly listened to what I was saying.

I guess it is kinda an odd and hard question to answer. I guess what I was looking for was things like:

As an daughter, I really appericate that my mom does not pry too much into my personal life. I think that simple choice makes a postive difference in our relationship.

As a employee, I am thankful that my boss always gives me several weeks notice for meetings or trainings. That makes a big difference for me, I used to have a boss that let me know of events last minute.

When I worked as a waitress, I often thought people were unaware of how busy I could be. I was always thankful when someone would acually look around the restraunt and say something like, "I see you are busy, I just want you to know I am in no rush."

at my last job, when I got to work (at 4:30 am), I was in the habit of greeting everyone with a big smile and a "good morning"
the responses I got were irrelevant.....
doesn't seem like much, but more than one person told me it was a very big blessing.
