When our payday falls on a holiday, we always get paid the day after. If it fell on a Friday, that means you could be getting your pay 3 days later than you expected it (Monday instead of Friday) Are other places like that?

At my last job, if payday was a holiday, everyone got their check early.

Last 2 or 3 jobs they pay early if the pay date is on a federal holiday.

I control payroll and am responsible for cashflow of our company, so I get paid before the holiday and everyone else gets paid after.

We get paid prior to the holiday if it falls on a bank holiday.

I work for a school that pays bi-monthly. When the pay day falls on a weekend or a holiday we get paid on the last business/school day before

My payday is on a Friday. On the week when it is Thanksgiving, I get paid on the previous Wednesday instead.

In my state, it is a law that the employer must pay within 5 days of the end of the pay period. Not long ago there was an error on my time card that, according to company policy, would have caused me to wait 2 weeks for that check to be paid. Their "rule" was that if all the "i's" aren't dotted and all the "t's" crossed (so to speak), then the employee would have to be paid on the next pay day. A quick call to the Employment Standards Division of the State Department of Labor got me paid on time. I think it was the part where my supervisor said, "Them's the rules." that made me mad. Sorry, but "them's not the rules in my state."

Maybe if you're always paid late, you should make a similar call.

It is the law here that you have to be paid within five days of end of the pay period also.
