but where is hell? It's not in a physical location that we can get to. Back in the day, before we had a fuller understanding of what our world is made up of, people believed that if you just dug into the ground far enough, you'd reach hell. Similarly, they believed that if you just went high enough into the sky, you'd reach heaven. Now we know that this is not the case. I think the easiest way to describe hell's location to a modern audience would be to say it is in another dimension. While I don't think that truly captures the idea, I think it's the best we can do with our accepted modern terminology.

Yes, I believe there is a real hell, - it is fully supported by numerous bible texts, especially by Jesus himself.

Hell is real. Hell is not the reason why I love Jesus.

ORIGINAL: dianetavegia Is hell real? This summer, the Pew Forum on Religion & Public Life released the "U.S. Religious Landscape Survey." According to the study, 59 percent of those surveyed believed in a concept of hell -- down from 71 percent in a 2001 Gallup poll. Hi, I think we should ask what do you think is, for their is a hell and its in the Bible. But what hell do you speak of, there is 4 hells and each is not the same. So I have placed the four below, e-sword is a great free Bible Software download and learn the meanings of works you might not know or think you know. God Bless and read His Word. Mark H7585 שׁאל שׁאול she'ôl she'ôl sheh-ole', sheh-ole' From H7592; hades or the world of the dead (as if a subterranian retreat), including its accessories and inmates: - grave, hell, pit. G1067 γέεννα geenna gheh'-en-nah Of Hebrew origin ([H1516] and [H2011]); valley of (the son of) Hinnom; gehenna (or Ge-Hinnom), a valley of Jerusalem, used (figuratively) as a name for the place (or state) of everlasting punishment: - hell. G86 ᾅδης hadēs hah'-dace From G1 (as a negative particle) and G1492; properly unseen, that is, “Hades” or the place (state) of departed souls: - grave, hell. G5020 ταρταρόω tartaroō tar-tar-o'-o From Τάρταρος Tartaros̄ (the deepest abyss of Hades); to incarcerate in eternal torment: - cast down to hell.

This is the only place I can find with this four Hell: 2Pe 2:4 ForG1063 ifG1487 GodG2316 sparedG5339 notG3756 the angelsG32 that sinned,G264 butG235 cast them down to hell,G5020 and deliveredG3860 them into chainsG4577 of darkness,G2217 to be reservedG5083 untoG1519 judgment;G2920 Almost every word has it only meaning, so even tro you think you know you might not. Mark 2Pe 2:1 ButG1161 there wereG1096 false prophetsG5578 alsoG2532 amongG1722 theG3588 people,G2992 evenG2532 asG5613 there shall beG2071 false teachersG5572 amongG1722 you,G5213 whoG3748 privily shall bring inG3919 damnableG684 heresies,G139 evenG2532 denyingG720 theG3588 LordG1203 that boughtG59 them,G846 and bring uponG1863 themselvesG1438 swiftG5031 destruction.G684 2Pe 2:2 AndG2532 manyG4183 shall followG1811 theirG846 pernicious ways;G684 by reason ofG1223 whomG3739 theG3588 wayG3598 of truthG225 shall be evil spoken of.G987 2Pe 2:3 AndG2532 throughG1722 covetousnessG4124 shall they with feignedG4112 wordsG3056 make merchandiseG1710 of you:G5209 whoseG3739 judgmentG2917 now of a long timeG1597 lingerethG691 not,G3756 andG2532 theirG846 damnationG684 slumberethG3573 not.G3756 2Pe 2:4 ForG1063 ifG1487 GodG2316 sparedG5339 notG3756 the angelsG32 that sinned,G264 butG235 cast them down to hell,G5020 and deliveredG3860 them into chainsG4577 of darkness,G2217 to be reservedG5083 untoG1519 judgment;G2920 2Pe 2:5 AndG2532 sparedG5339 notG3756 the oldG744 world,G2889 butG235 savedG5442 NoahG3575 the eighthG3590 person, a preacherG2783 of righteousness,G1343 bringing inG1863 the floodG2627 upon the worldG2889 of the ungodly;G765 2Pe 2:6 AndG2532 turning the cities of Sodom and Gomorrha into ashesG5077 G4172 G4670 G2532 G1116 condemnedG2632 them with an overthrow,G2692 makingG5087 them an ensampleG5262 unto those that after shouldG3195 live ungodly;G764 2Pe 2:7 AndG2532 deliveredG4506 justG1342 Lot,G3091 vexedG2669 withG5259 theG3588 filthy conversationG1722 G766 G391 of theG3588 wicked:G113 2Pe 2:8 (ForG1063 that righteous manG1342 dwellingG1460 amongG1722 them,G846 in seeingG990 andG2532 hearing,G189 vexedG928 his righteousG1342 soulG5590 from dayG2250 toG1537 dayG2250 with their unlawfulG459 deeds;)G2041 2Pe 2:9 The LordG2962 knowethG1492 how to deliverG4506 the godlyG2152 out ofG1537 temptations,G3986 andG1161 to reserveG5083 the unjustG94 untoG1519 the dayG2250 of judgmentG2920 to be punished:G2849 2Pe 2:10 ButG1161 chieflyG3122 them that walkG4198 afterG3694 the fleshG4561 inG1722 the lustG1939 of uncleanness,G3394 andG2532 despiseG2706 government.G2963 PresumptuousG5113 are they, selfwilled,G829 they are notG3756 afraidG5141 to speak evilG987 of dignities.G1391 2Pe 2:11 WhereasG3699 angels,G32 which areG5607 greaterG3187 in powerG2479 andG2532 might,G1411 bringG5342 notG3756 railingG989 accusationG2920 againstG2596 themG846 beforeG3844 the Lord.G2962 2Pe 2:12 ButG1161 these,G3778 asG5613 naturalG5446 bruteG249 beasts,G2226 madeG1080 to be takenG1519 G259 andG2532 destroyed,G5356 speak evilG987 ofG1722 the things thatG3739 they understand not;G50 and shall utterly perishG2704 inG1722 forsakenG2641 theG3588 rightG2117 way,G3598 and are gone astray,G4105 followingG1811 theG3588 wayG3598 of BalaamG903 the son of Bosor,G1007 whoG3739 lovedG25 the wagesG3408 of unrighteousness;G93 2Pe 2:16 ButG1161 was rebukedG2192 G1649 for hisG2398 iniquity:G3892 the dumbG880 assG5268 speakingG5350 withG1722 man'sG444 voiceG5456 forbadG2967 theG3588 madnessG3913 of theG3588 prophet.G4396 2Pe 2:17 TheseG3778 areG1526 wellsG4077 without water,G504 cloudsG3507 that are carriedG1643 withG5259 a tempest;G2978 to whomG3739 theG3588 mistG2217 of darknessG4655 is reservedG5083 for ever.G1519 G165 2Pe 2:18 ForG1063 when they speakG5350 great swellingG5246 words of vanity,G3153 they allureG1185 throughG1722 the lustsG1939 of the flesh,G4561 through much wantonness,G766 those that were clean escapedG668 G3689 from them who liveG390 inG1722 error.G4106 2Pe 2:19 While they promiseG1861 themG846 liberty,G1657 theyG846 themselves areG5225 the servantsG1401 of corruption:G5356 forG1063 of whomG3739 a manG5100 is overcome,G2274 of the sameG5129 is he(G2532) brought in bondage.G1402 2Pe 2:20 ForG1063 ifG1487 after they have escapedG668 theG3588 pollutionsG3393 of theG3588 worldG2889 throughG1722 the knowledgeG1922 of theG3588 LordG2962 andG2532 SaviourG4990 JesusG2424 Christ,G5547 they are(G1161) againG3825 entangledG1707 therein,G5125 andG2532 overcome,G2274 theG3588 latter endG2078 isG1096 worseG5501 with themG846 than theG3588 beginning.G4413 2Pe 2:21 ForG1063 it had beenG2258 betterG2909 for themG846 notG3361 to have knownG1921 theG3588 wayG3598 of righteousness,G1343 than,G2228 after they have knownG1921 it, to turnG1994 fromG1537 theG3588 holyG40 commandmentG1785 deliveredG3860 unto them.G846 2Pe 2:22 ButG1161 it is happenedG4819 unto themG846 according(G3588) to theG3588 trueG227 proverb,G3942 The dogG2965 is turned to his own vomit again;G1994 G1909 G2398 G1829 andG2532 the sowG5300 that was washedG3068 toG1519 her wallowingG2946 in the mire.G1004

This I feel tells it all. Joh 3:16 ForG1063 GodG2316 soG3779 lovedG25 theG3588 world,G2889 thatG5620 he gaveG1325 hisG848 only begottenG3439 Son,G5207 thatG2443 whosoeverG3956 believethG4100 inG1519 himG846 should notG3361 perish,G622 butG235 haveG2192 everlastingG166 life.G2222 Joh 3:17 ForG1063 GodG2316 sentG649 notG3756 hisG848 SonG5207 intoG1519 theG3588 worldG2889 toG2443 condemnG2919 theG3588 world;G2889 butG235 thatG2443 theG3588 worldG2889 throughG1223 himG846 might be saved.G4982 Joh 3:18 He that believethG4100 onG1519 himG846 is notG3756 condemned:G2919 butG1161 he that believethG4100 notG3361 is condemnedG2919 already,G2235 becauseG3754 he hath notG3361 believedG4100 inG1519 theG3588 nameG3686 of theG3588 only begottenG3439 SonG5207 of God.G2316

Hell has not been established yet. Do I believe [know] it will one day be established? Yup.

In the book of Samuel when King David's oldest son Absolom was beheaded, he (David) immediately prayed for his son to have him raised to a different level of hell. In answer to DianaV~ Yes I do believe in hell

H7585 שׁאל שׁאול she'ôl she'ôl sheh-ole', sheh-ole' From H7592; hades or the world of the dead (as if a subterranian retreat), including its accessories and inmates: - grave, hell, pit. A: Well I added a list of the meanings so people could get an Idea of what they mean. You have (1) she'ôl she'ôl (grave, hell, pit). (2) geenna ( a valley of Jerusalem) (3) hadēs (grave, hell) (4) tartaroō (the deepest abyss of Hades)- This is a place for Satan and his Angels. 2Pe 2:4 ForG1063 ifG1487 GodG2316 sparedG5339 notG3756 the angelsG32 that sinned,G264 butG235 cast them down to hell,G5020 and deliveredG3860 them into chainsG4577 of darkness,G2217 to be reservedG5083 untoG1519 judgment;G2920 - But as you can read they will be reserved unto judgment. They are more then one place and talking about the "grave" and the last one is for Satan and his Angels. So when we are talking about Hell lets be sure we are not talking about the Hell for Satan and his Angels but Hell meaning the grave for "people" otherwise we lose the meaning and end up thinking that the "tartaroō" hell is for people. Mark H7585 שׁאל שׁאול she'ôl she'ôl sheh-ole', sheh-ole' From H7592; hades or the world of the dead (as if a subterranian retreat), including its accessories and inmates: - grave, hell, pit.
