I am dealing with a couple of mice right now too and need to get rid of them, but I do not want to kill them either. They seem to frighten very easily too!

My advice would be to kill them quickly. Mice can reproduce at alarmingly fast rates and it is much easier to get rid of them when they first invade than it is if you wait awhile. Eventually you will be forced to deal with them, but if you wait you will have to kill a far greater number of mice.

Thanks Benelchi, they have only been here about a month or less I think. They are baby mice too, and only seen two of them. Someone recommended that I buy something called "Just One Bite" or something like that. It says that it dehydrates them and they go outside to die instead.

It only takes 19-20 days to have another generation of mice, and the average litter size is between 5-10, and mice can reproduce at about 6 weeks. That means that two mice can potentially produce almost 100 mice in a little over two months! You need to get busy quickly!

Edited to add:

One of the reasons that mice are use so often in scientific studies is because multiple generations can be studied very quickly.

Yes, I am feeling MUCH better, thank you!!! I slept from 9:00 pm last night to 7:30 am this morning...I don't remember the last time I got 10 1/2 hours of sleep, but it sure felt good!

Glad to hear you are feeling better. My eldest son has been a bit sick the last day or two. Not bad, but enough to slow him down a little. I had something that began about a week ago, but other than being a little more tired than normal, I am over it.

I'm sorry your son isn't feeling well, I hope he feels better soon. I am glad you feel better.

My son isn't quite over it yet, but he is definitely feeling much better.

We are basically good, as Randy Stonehill put it "the likes of Adolf Hitler must have had a real bad day!"

That was exactly what I was thinking.

I did see the second part of your quote (and I do know and respect Stonehill), but I didn't recognize this quote so I could not understand the context and I was left unsure as to what you meant.

In his song Modern Myth, he has the verse:

I hear that people are basically good
and everything will turn out okay
I guess that fellas like Adolf Hitler
just must have had a real bad day
Now you can choose to disagree
but one thing is very clear
We'd all be pretty depressed
if we got to heaven and it was just like here

Basically it is tongue and cheek that people are not basically good.

Praise God from whom all blessings flow............

Lord willing, as soon as the envelope I dropped in the mail today gets to its destination, my school loan, which was plagued me since 1997 will be PAID OFF....and during this year, by the grace of God (and a dose of parental intervention )..I also paid off 2 credit cards!!!!!!!!!

With the exception of an outstanding hospital bill, I will now be debt free, and I should be able to pay off the hospital bill my mid February!!!!!!!! And then I'll be completely debt free, Lord willing! I pray our Good Lord helps me to not get into such a mess again!!!

Thank you Deb and Cindy!

---------------------------------------------------

More good news!

The man in our church who was gonna come hang my shelves for me ran into car trouble (well truck trouble if you want to be technical), so his coming to hang the shelve was quite delayed..well yesterday, when I wasn't even expecting him, he just showed up, and hung the shelves! I was so thankful...poor guy, as soon as he hung up one shelf, I was right there, arranging what I wanted on that shelf, while he worked on the next (except for any shelves that were right in the same row...I wouldn't do THAT to him. He said it was ok if I did that, though. In order to complete the look, I'll, Lord willing, still be buying 2 longer shelves, and one smaller one. However, with what the man did yesterday, I was able to get MOST of my knicknacks onto shelves and out of boxes that I constantly had to step over. Lord willing, I should be able to get a window dressing and the lace that I want to use as a border at the top of the room next paycheck, and then I'll hopefully be done...oh, except I still want to stain one of the shelves that is already up. The man hung it so that I can slide it off and on.

Sounds like it's coming together, Rebekah. You'll have to post pictures.

Oh, I want to! Probably in Home and Garden, though. This is a been a long, effortful project. I had a friend tease me...she said "As soon as you get it all the way you want, some guy will ask you to marry him." lol That is the nice kind of teasing....one reason I KNEW I needed to get more organized, though is that otherwise my stuff would have been a nightmare to move, whether I move as a married OR a single person.

Yep, she's mine. It's a good thing she's cute. She's a bit of a stinker. I think I'm gonna take her down soon, though, because I've got baby lambs and they should have a turn on Crosswalk, don't ya think?

Oh, yes, I LOVE sheep. I wish we could have sheep, and seeing as we have 3 1/2 acres, and do have a pasture, you would think we could, but we tried boarding someone else's sheep, and dogs kept getting in and killing lambs. They weren't our dogs. We had a very nice dog once, who has long since died, but SHE never bothered the sheep..they were just dogs from who knows where.

A good shotgun would take care of that problem. I get really aggravated with irresponsible people who think that just because they're in a rural area, they can let their dogs do whatever.
