Cairico, your continual pick-and-choose attitude when it comes to Scripture is surprising, given your apparent commitment to Scripture. I suggest you examine all of Scripture, not just the ones which support your view. Furthermore, I believe there is already a one-stop thread for the free-will debate. I suggest taking your comments there.

So "faith is a gift from God so that no one can boast." No no no. You have chosen to leave out a vital part from that verse. Faith is what WE exercise. The gift is not faith, it is salvation. The subject of Ephesians 2:8-9 is salvation, not faith. We place our faith in him, and it is not by good deeds that we get to Heaven, but by grace immediately following us placing our trust in Christso that no one can boast. Why would God force one to have faith in Him, or in something one does not wish to have faith in? That makes no sense whatsoever. quote:
So the only conclusion is that Arminians have not met the risen Lord or they would know that they decided nothing, absolutely nothing. This is a violation of the ToS Carico. You have no right judging my salvation because I do not subscribe to your dogmatic doctrine. Despicable! I am a blood-bought, born-again, Bible-believing Christian, and you claim what you wish, Jesus has saved me from my sins and given me the opportunity to spend the rest of eternity with Him. It's just too bad your ideologies have blinded you from reality. You are a very bitter person towards those who do not agree with you, and that is not fair.

You are a very bitter person towards those who do not agree with you, and that is not fair. 1 Corinthians 11:19, "No doubt there have to be divisions among you to show which of you has God's approval." So we can't both have God's approval because God is not divided. So I'm not going to argue about it any more. I can only tell the truth that, like Jesus says, "I can do nothing without my Father." And by the way, faith is fruit of the Spirit, and the Spirit comes from God, not a fruit of the sinful nature. So you are 100% wrong when you say faith comes from ourselves. By your reasoning, atheists really know there's a hell they just prefer hell over heaven. All you have to do is ask any atheist if he believes in God and he'll say no and that's not because he wants to go to hell. So there's nothing about what you say that's biblical.

Great, so we both can't be right. I totally agree, which is why we are debating. But that does not mean I am not a Christian because I do not agree with you. The Bible tells us to accept Jesus as our Savior. It tells US to accept Him. IT does not tell GOd to accept Himself. I can only tell the truth the way Jesus did throughout the Gospels. Ponder this: "Deu 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:"

This makes absolutely NO sense whatsoever! You really need to stop making jumps that do not exist. By my reasoning, Atheists choose NOT to accept God. THEY HAVE A CHOICE! That's been my reasoning all along.

Ponder this: "Deu 30:19 I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live:" I want to be as perfect as God. So that means that I can will myself to be. I can have all the powers of healing, I can override the sinful nature in me, I can will myself not to be grumpy, tired, sad, sick. In fact, I don't even need the Holy Spirit in me because I can do all good things by my own will. Who said that everything good comes from above? Good things come from me because I'm a good person. So what do I need the cross for? I can turn to my own free will to get rid of my sin. So I guess Jesus died for nothing because I don't need his death to take away my sins. I can get rid of them by an act of my will. Who said the battle belongs to the Lord? I don't need him for a thing because with my will I can be God. Boy does that feel good. So say Arminians. They couldn't be more deceived by Satan. "He who exalts himself will be humbled." Indeed.
