My dog got a cottontail this weekend. Grand daughter and her friend saw him chase it down in the yard. When I got to him he was so proud that he had it... Wouldn't let it go! When I finally pried it out of his mouth and felt how big it was the first thought that sprung to mind was "Crispy fried wabbit!" When I suggested it to the family they took on a look of disdain toward me... That coupled with the fact that Kayla was rather traumatized and wanted the bunny buried, I got the shovel out and dug a hole...

Blame this story on Jimbo and his question about fried cat!

You shoulda done some sleight of hand with a couple of hand towels and buried them instead. Dinner coulda been "chicken."

No major politician has a birthday in Colorado. There will be flattened, gritty 'possom next to the road.

In 1998, some industrial scientists discovered a secret flaw with the truly amazing duct tape. After testing a variety of substances for fixing heating ducts, and to quote one of the scientists, "duct tape failed reliably - and often quite catatrophically."

We are trapping kittens on the front porch.

Not that this has anything to do with the post immediately above this...

But there is the 'Gastronomical Festival of the Cat' in Peru. I'm glad to see that the kitties are specially raised for the event. But in case they run short this year there are more than enough that hang out on my front porch at night.

Palin may be related to Princess Diana and Roosevelt

Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Palin is distantly related to the late Princess Diana and late U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt, genealogy experts said on Wednesday.

The governor of Alaska and the princess are tenth cousins, while Palin and Roosevelt are ninth cousins once removed, said Ancestry.com, online genealogists based in Provo, Utah.

Rest of the story...

Winnie-the-Pooh was first published on 10-14-1926.

My dad was only about 3 months old then. My mother missed the event entirely since she would not be born for almost 6 more years.

On television today a Democratic operative smugly pointed out that when Obama holds a rally 75,000-100,000 people show up, whereas when McCain holds one he only draws 10,000-15,000.

The Republican spokesman replied, "That's because McCain's supporters are at work."

There was a popular japanese restaurant in town here, for a very long time, and they were forced to shut down when someone saw and reported numerous cat skeletons on the roof top. I wonder what they passed it off as?
