5 days.

Although I miss my kids when they are in school, I am counting days because I love the routine of the school year.

We start on Monday.

Hallelujah! [sm=icon_smile_sing.gif]

My kids have really missed their friends. We've had a few playdates but everyone's just so busy and so were we it seems. I miss my friends (moms, other Board members, teachers) too. I spend a lot of time volunteering at their school so I'm anxious to get back too. Hey, I think I should get to buy new clothes to go back to school too, don't you?

I am getting a couple of outfits as soon as the budget bounces back from the kids stuff![:)]

A week from today! My kids are ready. We have hit the scary point of summer. Hubby and I have discovered we have three sections to our summers. The first part is the "it's all new" part. In this part we sleep in, get up hang out with friends, goof around. Everything is new and fun and relaxing. The second part is our busy season. Camp, the zoo, vacations if we have any and lessons if there are any. We are constantly on the go and things are still fun and exciting! Then we hit the 3 weeks before school starts. This the season when the kids are getting tired of hanging out with friends all the time, school shopping starts and all the stuff of season 2 are over. Things start getting tense because nerves start to play a part in everything. All the last minute prep and stuff just grates on everyone's patience. We are so there right now. It's time.

I love my kids like crazy - and I will be highly involved in school as always, but we are in need of routine and schedule again.

Blessings,

Garsy

I'm counting the days because the kids are so......bored! They are making me nuts! We also start Monday.

We're also September 2nd. I'm only starting to think about everything this week.

I'm also not sure if we're going with public or homeschool for everyone this year. Dh and I are scheduled to talk about it this weekend. [&:]

Today's the first day and I just realized I forgot to put money in their lunch accounts! I think I can drop off a check in the office this morning. I hope that's the only thing I've forgotten.

Tinkerbell_ -> RE: Countdown to the first day (8/19/2008 12:16:18 PM)

Haha! I didn't forget, but Thing 2 forgot to grab it as he left the car.

Then today he left his backpack in the car and I didn't realise it until I was at work...an hour away. [8|]

Let's see what he forgets tomorrow. [8D]

Thing 1 started 7th grade and made the mistake of trying to be grouchy. I told him if he didn't straighten up I was going to greet him 'enthusiastically' when I picked him up from cross country practice.

He straightened up. [:D]
