HA! Ours was gobbled last night! (Since we don't have Thanksgiving this week up here, I could cook the turkey whenever I wanted. I was getting tired of having it in the freezer, so I had put it to thaw. It was thawed yesterday, so it got cooked yesterday!)

So yesterday we had turkey, stuffing, mashed taters, gravy, cooked carrots, and an experiment - kinda a green bean casserole but with mixed veggies and regular onion flakes baked in it instead of the French fried onions, with crushed crackers on top. Oh, and homemade brownies.

Tonight - Uhhh, leftovers?

LOL. Your avvy is funny Donna.

I have no idea. I've been focusing on my first Thanksgiving turkey so much that I haven't cooked much this week. I probably will pick up something since I have to stop by the market for some last minute items for tomorrow.

I've tried but have always been unsuccessful in making them. I think it's because my oven doesn't like to keep accurate temperature.

I don't even know what a popover is. Who wants to make me some?

That could be it. They are fairly temperature sensative.

Here's the recipe. My family loves these. They are always a hit with company too.

Whole Wheat Popovers

1 1/3 cup milk
1 tablespoon cooking oil
1 1/2 cup whole wheat pastry flour (you can use white flour, but it won’t be quite the same)
3 eggs

Preheat oven to 450 degrees. Use a 12 cup muffin tin or a popover tin. Thoroughly spray or grease the insides of the tins.

In a medium-sized bowl combine milk, oil, and flour. Beat with a whisk until smooth. Add eggs, one at a time, beating only until the batter is smooth. Do not overbeat. Pour evenly into muffin tins.

Bake 15 minutes at 450 degrees. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake 15 minutes longer.

Makes 1 dozen.

Dinner plans have changed. I picked up a rib eye roast for a super deal at Safeway. It was at it's sell by date, so we are having it for dinner with sweet potatoes and butternut squash.

The roast was on sale to begin with, then since it was at the sell by date, it was marked down 50% off the sale price. I got a 6 lb rib eye roast for $18. My husband practically jumped for joy, then he prepared it and put it in the oven for dinner tonight. That frees me up to clean the bathroom. lol
