Tonight is beef stew and grumpy son

Tomorrow is sticky chicken made with turkey breasts that was on sale over the summer because I need the leftovers for...

chicken enchiladas for the international potluck at the missions conference at church on Saturday

LOL, are you tempted to make the stew out of the grumpy son?? I'm guessing he's grumpy because he doens't like the stew...

No, I'm not tempted to do that...yet.

We had italian beef sandwiches last week and it's his 2nd favorite meal so he can have leftovers of that while the rest of us eat stew.

I know he doesn't like the stew (I think it's the tomato soup base because he also doesn't like mac and cheese made with tomato soup) so I make sure there's something else he can eat. The funny thing is he loves tomatoes.

I like fresh tomatoes, sliced and salt/peppered, I like canned tomato soup, but I hate chunks of "cooked" tomato in soups or hotdishes . Go figure... so anyway, I guess I can understand!

I sympathize with him. I don't like recipes made with tomato soup either. I like the soup by itself, but I prefer chopped tomatoes in my cooking.

I'm going to try a new recipe tonight, Orange Beef. It was in my Weight Watcher's magazine this month.

Small group tonight. We're having lasagna and homemade dinner rolls. Someone else is bringing a salad, and a third couple is bringing dessert (probably something with raspberries).

Well, it's been pretty easy since the expectations were low-- somehow he'd gotten the idea when we were dating (long distance) that I didn't cook.

Friday nights we typically dine out at our favorite local Mexican restaurant. Can't wait!

I can't stand raw tomatoes, tomato juice or tomato soup, but I love them cooked any other way. Go figure!

Nothing tonight, I haven't been feeling well, but I'm making a tortellini vegetable stew tomorrow with this recipe I just found. It looks yummy! Only I'll be making it with mild Italian sausage, not hot.
