I am a single mom with two special needs children. I have been trained to do therapy for my sons. I also help in a Special Needs Sunday School, and help in my sons Special Needs classroom.[:)]

I used to have a paying job but was laid off because the company I worked for was bought and sold.[&:]

I am reading the bible through "the bible in a year " program and also using the e-Sword.org tool.[:)]

I have been spending alot of times in the Forums..[:D]

I would like to know... When our bodies die do we go to heaven or go to the earth and wait for the rapture? [8|]

I'm no theologian, armchair or otherwise, but I think I can answer this one ~ it is my understanding that when we die our spirits go to be with the Lord (To be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord) when the rapture comes, if we are alive, we will go to Christ (body and all) if we have passed on then our bodies will rise with Christ. (1 Thes. 4:16,17 (16)For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: (17)Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.)

If I'm wrong in my understanding of this ~ plenty of people will let me know!! [sm=smile-l.gif]

I think this is very sensible.. some say that the spirit goes right away and the body goes during rapture.. but the body would then be pretty descrepted looking.. and some would be babies some would be elderly etc etc..

I like your explanation.

Now what is the soul? We have a brain with electrical currents synapsis etc that helps us to think and runs our bodies.. this dies when the body dies. How much does the soul think and know?

Actually the Bible says our souls go to be with God when we die, until Judgment. After Judgement we will have new and better bodies, like that of Christ after his Resurrection. Not our old earthly bodies!
