John McCain's campaign says it will return $50,000 in donations solicited by foreign citizen

WASHINGTON (AP) -- John McCain's campaign said Thursday it is returning $50,000 in contributions solicited by a foreign citizen.

The move follows the disclosure that the money was being raised by a Jordanian man who is a business partner of prominent Florida Republican Harry Sargeant III, who has collected hundreds of thousands of dollars for McCain.

The New York Times reported Thursday that Sargeant allowed a longtime business partner, Mustafa Abu Naba'a, to bring in some $50,000 in donations in March from members of a single extended family in California, the Abdullahs, along with several of their friends.

Story Here

Guess the Obama campaign isn't the only one returning questionable donations. [8D]

I am not really sure what you are trying to make a fuss about. So what if a candidate returns a donation that he feels may, or already has raised questions?

A candidate retuning a donation would raise questions for me if for some strange reason he somehow found some sort of justification for keeping part of it.

Yeah I don't see where McCain looks bad here.

Tell me where you've heard this before:

It doesn't matter that they gave back the money. It just amazes me the kind of people who love this guy.

Sound familiar?

I assume your referring to right wing attacks on Obama. Right wing attacks that I have never participated in. I don't think either of them should be held responsible for unsolicited supporters that are, shall we say, less than desirable. Especially when they return the money. The fact that Obama is held more responsible than McCain speaks to the lack of honor in certain elements of the Republican party. No surprise there, they've done this garbage for years (McCain himself was a victim in the 2000 primary). The Democratic party has their far left do anything to win zealots also, they just aren't as good at getting their smear message out to the folks. Yet.
