Hi OneJohn410 thank you so much for posting. Before I respond to the rest of your post I want to respond to this comment quote:
I'm not out to hack this post. I am a little different then some on the threads in that I don't mind if you hack my post LOL When I write a post I am writing the thoughts in my mind at the time, when you or another responds with questions or comments, I am giving the opportunity to reread what I wrote, ask questions to myself and the Lord in light of what has been written in response, and then reply........What fun. I often find it is through the "hacking" of my post that I grow the most. I admit I don't really understand why it offends or upsets some. It seems like (I am not saying this is so just that is seems that way to me) that having what you said challenged and then participating in a continued discussion on it it threatening to some. Why I don't know. I thrive on people challenging my beliefs and post..........because in the ensuing discussion God always speaks powerfully............ Now on to what you wrote quote:
Do you see God seated on a throne in heaven? I have to make a mental image of that. Yes......actually I use to lift my eyes during prayer and times of worship so that I could focus my eyes and "see" God on his thrown in heaven........I would mostly see Jesus as portrayed in revelations.........what a powerful picture huh..........but one day I was really struggling with some things in my life and I want to feel close to the Lord. I would catch glimpses of Him, in all His glory, on the thrown but these dark clouds (actually just air minus light) kept floating by blocking me from seeing Him...........I heard the Holy spirit say why do you look for His light in heaven when Jesus came to bring His light to earth and I am here inside of you. Now I can see God on the thrown as well as His Holy Spirit glowing inside of me........It is something amazing to see the light of Christ coming out of you.........very cool. quote:
I have seen beauty in God's creation, but I've never placed Him inside it like you are talking about. I don't see Him visiting the earth every so often in a rainbow, or a mist on a lake. Do you enjoy art? I do. When I see a piece of art I see a little of the artist as well. When I see creation I do not see it as God but as a part of Him since it is his artwork. It reflects his heart, love, joy etc. Since I believe all of nature proclaims His glory so much so that God tells the man in hell who wants to go back and warn his family that he can't because God reveals his truth through all that he has created......... One of the best verses for how I look at creation is found in Romans........ Romans 1:20 For since the creation of the world God's invisible qualities- his eternal power and divine nature- have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that men are without excuse. In my experiences God clearly reveals Himself through what he has made. quote:
I'm not out to hack this post. I really am not. I just find this spot off. How is that humbling? Do you think you'll have earthly standards that can be met at that time? How is it humbling??? I would say because I can get self righteous in believing that I only see people through God's eyes and based on His love for them. I get on my high horse and proclaim (usually only to myself) that I would never judge someone because of the way they look and that I could love a horrible deformed, scarred, fat, ugly man as much as I could love a handsome, strong, muscle bound man. I love God more then I have every loved anyone or anything.........the love I have for him I believe is so deep, so powerful, so intense that I doubt I will ever love (the reason I say doubt is because I have yet to experience the love between a husband and wife) anyone as much as I love him.........yet in the passion of my love for him......in the strength of it I realize that if God once again came to earth (not that he will until Jesus returns) as a man similar to one I described I just might not love Him as much if he did not meet my idea of beautiful............to me that thought..........that realization is humbling......... My prayer is that I will begin to see others without seeing them........so that I can love them based on not seeing them more then seeing them. quote:
God's beauty- you are right- it is not seen physically here on earth. I disagree.......every time I look at a full moon radiating in the son light I see amazing beauty. I see God's beauty........why? Because I see myself how he sees me, with nothing blocking his sight of me, in purity and light. I see the moon as a shining example of how Jesus's light shines on me, silly little me who is covered with scars, craters, gray matter(and no I am not talking about those few(and I mean few) gray hairs )and I am transformed into a bright shinning light pouring God's light upon a darkened world...........Oh yes the moon is beautiful because it reflects a beautiful truth God speaks to me every time I look at it..........that is beauty. quote:
I also know from reading the Bible that the Lord does not live in others. The Holy Spirit lives in those saved by grace through faith in Jesus Christ, who is Lord of lords. Is not the Holy spirit also Lord? Is God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit one? Doesn't Jesus pray to his Father that we would be one with them as he is one with the Father? How can we be one with the Father if he is not also a part of us? When a husband and wife become one do they merge their two identities into one or do they retain who they will become one as well? quote:
Thy words, O Lord, have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against Thee. Does that share the spirit of God's Word? I am not sure what you are asking or stating here........I believe it is very important to hid the words of the Lord, the Bible, in our hearts. I believe it is very important to read the bible daily, meditating on what God is saying to us and striving to live our lives based on what God reveals to us through His word. Do I think God only speaks through the Bible? No I do not. I believe the trinity is relationship. A deep oneness which is impossible for us to really understand. I believe Jesus prayed we would be one with the Father meaning we would be one with the trinity.......... I believe we are one with father/son/holy spirit........I believe this is what Jesus prayed. I also believe marriage is suppose to be an earthly example of heaven coming to earth......in a walking out, so that we can grasp it better, illustration of what the trinity is suppose to look like.........Man, Wife and the Lord(Father,Son,Spirit).........a trinity as God intended for us............ I also think marriage has become so much less in our world that we find it hard to comprehend or understand the trinity because of our lack of example of Godly marriages. Now before I get jumped all over.......this is a new thought, not one I have mulled over or taken to the Lord for explanation. Please fill free to respond since I know responses will challenge me to think about and grow in understanding of what I just wrote I wonder is it harder for singles to relate to and comprehend how the trinity works because we have never experienced God's earthly example of the trinity? Just a thought lol
