Just wondering from reading some of your heartfelt opinions. This isn't just your ordinary guy running for president. Some of you believe that he hates America and "ordinary hard-working" Americans, especially if they're white. That he is somehow in cahoots with terrorist organizations like Hamas. That he's secretly Muslim. That he shares the views of his allegedly racist, anti-American preacher. So. Why does he want to be president? If all of the above assertions are true, then we can only assume that he is not an agent of change, but an agent intent on destroying the country he and his terrorist associates hate so much. Was he hand picked by the terrorists, groomed and trained at a secret camp and then sent out to dupe the gullible Americans? Is he planning on appointing Jerimiah Wright Attorney General so he can launch the investigation that will eventually indict all white people with inventing the aids virus? Will he conficate hard working white peoples hard earned money to give to black folks as reparations? Will he bring in Ludacris' paint crew, to paint the white house black? Your thoughts. - Julius

Well Julius, I saw last night on the news where Hilary's supporters may nominate her at the convention anyway, and personally my brother, a part of me would like to believe the dog show has just not been decided yet.

Is B. Hussein O. the biggest threat to our country in history? This is quite a statement/question to pose. Obviously in the history of the US Nobama doesn't even come close to being the worse threat ever. I personally believe Nobama is no different than any other politician regardless of what he says. Actions speak louder than words and his actions have been right down party lines. He does and says whatever is necessary to win elections or make himself look good. I believe his inexperience will cause a lot of problems with foreign policy and with working with the Congress. Furthermore I believe he will be nothing but a puppet or a rubber stamp for a Democratically controlled Congress. Regarding his church while I don't think he is as racist or America hating as some would have you think, I do believe that he follows the Black Liberation Theology which is extreme to say the least and perverts the very basics of Christianity. I also believe that he will bring this country a step closer to Socialism with his Universal Healthcare, Windfall Profits Tax, higher taxes for the rich and redistribution to the poor. I believe he will increase the national debt farther than ever before and will have a higher rate of deficit spending than we have ever seen, again due to having a Democrat controlled Congress who will push through any and every bill they can dream of. Add into that the costs for all the programs he has claimed he will put into effect during his term and he will send this country not into a recession but into a depression. Bottom line I believe NObama to be nothing more than a snake oil salesman, a con-man or a flim-flam man. He sees the low approval rating of both the president and congress and throws out phrases of hope and change, nothing but empty rhetoric, to attract the people who are desperate for these things but ends up having nothing to give them and they end up worse off than they were. Just my opinion and hey, you asked.

Hi Julius, I think he is the bigest threat to man-kind. You know it is not a black-white with me issue. They does not matter, I am a court appointed gaurdian over a mentally challenged child who is black. I have had her since age twelve, she is twenty. I do not get paid, I just love her, she is black and calls me mom. Julius it is time for a black man to be president. This man, just gives me the creeps, and his polices are wrong. Is he likeable? yes, if I was less deserning, I would go for his charm. This how I earnestly feel with my whole heart. I think if he were muslum it would be better than false Christanity, atleast there is an excuse for his actions. Hey, I did not like Bill Clinton either, slick willie. I do not like Hillary at all, she is a big mouthed woman. She is the same coloring as I am. I would not vote for her, never, ever.

Don't forget that Obama is secretly planning to rename his daughters "Karl Marx I" and "Karl Marx II" (I heard it on Hannity's show, so it must be true), and that the Democratic convention will be featuring a video montage highlighting the life of George Soros. Call me crazy, but I suspect Obama may be an America-hater (again, Hannity confirmed it - and his word is good enough for me).

He does and says whatever is necessary to win elections or make himself look good. That is a pretty fair assessment. However, unlike any other politician that I can remember, his patriotism has come into question quite often. I've never known any other politicians' church to be scrutinized like his has, emphasizing the anti-American aspect of it. A significant number of people still consider him a Muslim. People have tried to tie him with terrorist organizations like Hamas. People still insist they don't know the "real" Obama. That because the mainstream media doesn't go out of their way to smear him, they must be in cahoots with him. He has to be hiding something, and he and his wife's deep-seeded hatred for our country may be his motivation for seeking the highest office in the land so he can destroy us infidels from within and advance the cause of the Islamic Jihad throughout the world. Why else would an anti-American, Muslim, racist, with terrorist ties and who is loved by all who hate America want to be president? - Julius

saved9201, Let me first say that I believe you are a very entertaining and a little off beat. I still haven't quite figured whee you really stand on the presidential election. Secondly I believe the conclusions you have drawn are a bit extreme. To some extent I do not blame you for drawing such conclusions. Yes, it may sound like concerned voters, largely on the right, are very fearful of this man. We are. But one needs to ask themselves why that may be. This election process, by some estimates, has been going on for nearly two years, but yet we do not feel that we have any real idea who Obama is, and how he thinks. What we do know, or can drawn conclusions on, about him seems to make it clear to us that he, despite all his fancy talk, is not the right man to be in the Oval Office at this time, or any time. What do we really know about Obama. 1. He's multi-racial , multi-cultural, multi-ethnic. multi-religious. 2. He is a product of the Chicago/ Illinois political machine. 3. He is an educated, fancy talker who knows how to say alot but disclose very little. This tends to explain how it is that he seems to have a knack to attract the right kind of help/ support (political, monetary, idealistic/ charismatic) he has been getting from his party, the media, and people. 4. He is for change, hope, and pulling the bulk of our military from Iraq no matter what. However, he rarely is in any way specific about this hope and change that he feels that this country is so badly in need of. 5. His rather short legislative history shows that his votes are either far left, or non commital. They also show that he rarely, if ever reaches across the political aisle on anything. 6. His associations (thus his political thinking, ideals, and such) tend to be/ seem to be solely made of persons on the far left. 7. He seems to have a very arrogant and disturbing way of handling criticism of any kind-the "race card", limiting discussions as to what he will/ will not talk about, creating web-sites to "debunk" comments and conclusions made about him, his family, his friends/ssociates, and what he/ his family/ his associates have accidentally said. I probably could go on, but these are the concerns that immediately come to mind in regard to Obama. In short it would appear that Obama's views and philosophy is rather limited, and that is not what we need. That is not what the world needs at this critical juncture of time in which the main focus seems to be "globalization" of mankind in many ares of life. This election is very important. America (IMO) is slowly waking up to the fact that the future is not as bright as we would like it to be either for us, or the rest of the world. Third world countries, that we have helped grow and develop, are growing a developing faster than we are, thus createing un-imaginable challenges for us as more countries stive to consume and exploit the world's resources. At the same time people are, in some cases, responding to all this change and development in violent ways (terrorism) because they question the moral impact all this growth and development is having on our cultural and religious values.

I think he's your typical self serving politician who has no regard for anything and anyone but himself and would throw his mother under the bus if he thought it would help him gain power... I don't think he's a Muslim, nor a Christian... I doubt he could identify a "ordinary hard-working" American. Oh and... If Rev White is allegedly racist is it safe to assume someone owes an apology to David Duke? John

Why else would an anti-American, Muslim, racist, with terrorist ties and who is loved by all who hate America want to be president? To be completely honest, and this applies to much of what you said, yes NObama has been scrutinized more than any other candidate in history. The question is why? Most have stated, including myself at times, that it is because we don't know NObama and while that may be true in part I also believe that has been used as an excuse to dig deeper and farther into his life than ever before. Like it or not however, this is what politics has become. Whoever can dig up the most dirt and cause the most fear of their opponent wins. This can be stated for both sides of the isle. This is why I detest most politicians. But I also blame it on the media. You have to admit, for whatever reason, whether it's because it's a historical moment, or he is charismatic, the media has fawned over this guy more than any other candidate in history including Ronald Reagan. This leaves a bad taste in the mouths of Conservatives so to make up for it the go to the extreme the other way. Then there is the internet where any idiot with a computer and a webcam can create whatever slanderous, irrational, or hateful video they can dream up. If it's against a Democrat then everyone assumes all Republicans feel this way or support those views. Sames goes for the reverse. That being said you must be honest and admit that NObama has brought a good bit of this upon himself. In his attempt to be politically expedient he has had to make some questionable judgments about his associates. The bible says you reap what you sow, and now it's harvest time. But beyond his do whatever it takes to win mentality I do believe it goes deeper than that. There is a constant theme that comes from both him and his wife and it's that this country is no longer a great country. I firmly believe that this comes from attending that church. Whatever the reason he used to select that church the fact is that he sat and listened to their message for twenty years. Now I'll admit that I'm sure every message wasn't like what was blasted across the screens day in and day out but you have to admit that this is the belief of that church, it is the belief of Black Liberation Theology, a belief that the government, the white government, has kept the black man down. So Nobama's views on America have been tainted and it comes across in his speech, his pastor's speech and his wife's speech. Do I think he hates America? No. I believe he truly wants to make it better. The problem is who he has chosen to be his mentors, which authors he allowed to influence his outlook and form his views. He seems to always gravitate to the radicals or unscrupulous.

There are two extremes about Obama, both wrong of course, the first being that he is the anti-Christ's little brother, the other being that the only people who oppose Obama are those who consider him the anti-Christ's little brother. Those who won't be voting for him for quite ordinary reasons are of course relegated somewhere off to the side of these two extremes.

Antichrist Obama quote:
The ad was the creation of Fred Davis, one of McCain's top media gurus, as well as a close friend of former Christian Coalition head Ralph Reed and the nephew of conservative Oklahoma Senator James Inhofe. It first caught the attention of Democrats familiar with the Left Behind series, a fictionalized account of the end time that debuted in the 1990s and has sold nearly 70 million books worldwide. "The language in there is so similar to the language in the Left Behind books," says Tony Campolo, a leading progressive evangelical speaker and author. I suppose, to claim equal time, Obama should run an ad comparing McCain to Mr. Magoo.

While I dispute almost everything else you said as well, this reminded me of an article I read a while back about how he wasn't particularly tainted by the Chicago political machine as he spent very little time being involved with it, and his victories had little to do with its influence. He didn't have to make any backroom deals as far as anyone can tell (if I recall the content of the article correctly). I suppose from this, you could spin it as him being lucky rather than experienced, or (as I see it) he is lucky and a good politician, capable of seizing opportunities in meaningful and effective ways.

I think it depends on what you consider a threat to the country. If you consider his possible racism, no, not much of a threat. His religious views? Only to the extent he sides with the ACLU, against traditional Christianity or against Israel. His lack of foreign policy experience? Not too much if he has the right advisors and keeps his big mouth shut. His lack of military experience/knowledge - you bet! But what scares me the most is his saying that America needs to change. From what little he has actually done and what little information he has come out with, I think that, with the help of Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reed, he would like to move America into a socialist state. He favors universal healthcare, higher taxes and redistribution of wealth, unlimited immigration, and no domestic drilling for oil or natural gas. In view of all that, I would consider that he probably is the biggest threat except for the Axis powers during World War II, and England during and right after our Revolutionary War. -Dave

I just see it as a choice between taking the fast lane (Obama) to Euro-style socialism, moral relativism, central political control and the death of the US rather than the slow lane (Bush and now McCain). We're going there, it just depends upon how fast we want to go. I'd rather see the slow lane in case I have children, so they can still get a taste of what once was.

Obama held office at the state level in Springfield, although his home district was in Chicago. He was never an elected city official. Plus, in deference to the "Illinois political machine," up until recently the state was heavily Republican dating back to the late 1970s until scandal after scandal led to the party's ouster by voters. The state's most recent governor (also a Republican) is currently in prison.

I'm not sure what you mean by socialist state, as America has almost always had some components of socialism. He's taken fire from the left because of the relative non-universality of his health care plan, his "higher taxes" are largely a response to what could be considered extremely irresponsible tax cuts under Bush... ...while I personally support unlimited immigration, Barack Obama does not, and a simple glance at his website would dispel this notion, as well as the untrue assertion that he offers no support for domestic drilling. I think that rhetoric about a "socialist state" is terribly overblown, particularly in this day and age, and considering the history that we have witnessed.

"Clash" sounds a lot like "crash" if you want to make another driving analogy about them.
