Often a fine is not about what the victim deserves, but what is required to get attention to the problem. If the offense is true, this woman and her husband are liars and should not be leading a church. IF it is true, they are the worst kind of thieves. A $3000 fine would mean nothing to them (Keep in mind the victim would have gotten none of that). 10% might sting a little. A settlement would have allowed them to sweep it under the rug... If it is true, it needs to be in the open. I am interested whether other passengers will be called as witnesses. There are people out there (and I don't know if the Osteens are some of them or not) who will continue bad behavior because they can get away with it. If this is getting this far (and is true) then it is likley (though not necessarily, I suppose it is possible she just had a momentary break) part of a pattern of behavior that, being rich and powerful, many people get away with every day. So, IF it is true, I completely support the victims. If it is a lie-- that is another story altogether. Tara P
