Little things like people getting saved that refused the Gospel before the Rapture
I know I'm not exactly a theologian, but it is my belief that the period between the Rapture and Jesus' return --through all the judgments and such are intended specifically for this; to give people the chance to turn away from their sinful lives. Yes, these books are a work of fiction, but I personally believe that God will be practically shouting, "You still have a chance! Turn to me!"

and people taking the mark of the beast but still being saved - all to move the story along - sort of rubbed me the wrong way since they go against orthodox eschatology.

I don't know if its bad theologically, but the character involved was saved prior to being physically forced to have the microchip implanted.

I guess bad theology doesn't bother everyone as long as a story is kept interesting...

Eschatology according to the Left Behind series has been one of the strangest events I've witnessed in over five decades of life - and that includes Jim Jones, David Koresh, Jimmy Swaggart, and Jim & Tammy Faye Bakker

Yes, there are points where the books don't exactly have a spritely step. And I'm sure if I reread them I would find theological bits that I differed with (just my personal opinion, but I think they missed the mark on which organized faith would be the Satanic church, there are churches further off the mark than the RC, but that's a tangent issue for another discussion) But long and short ladies and gents, when it all boils down, this is two men's view of a work of fiction inspired by the Bible.

Me? I've read the entire series (not counting the kid books) including the prequals. I've not seen any of the movies (my DW gets the willies about anything involving end time prophecy), I found them reasonably enjoyable and considered the slower aspects of the stories to be character developement. As for parts being repeated, the authors may have felt the need to write for the lowest common denominator ... readers with a low capacity for retraining details.

The whole serious is like that

You can skip the whole serious and read the "Are we living in the end times book" by the same authors.

It summarizes the whole left behind series for you.

Series!
