MusicianDad -> The Classic Rock Video Thread (8/2/2008 8:15:54 PM)

Post a favorite rock video from the greatest period in music history, 1968-1990.

Here's a start with Sugarloaf, Don't Call Us, We'll Call You

1960s
Beatles live rooftop concert 1969: One After 909-- There are other songs posted from that concert, but that is my favorite.

Awesome early 70's glam rock: New York Dolls -- Personality Crisis

1980s
I think this is my favorite song of the 80s: Def Leppard -- Photograph

My favorite video from the days before videos were shot?

There is no link to this one, I only saw it when it aired on broadcast TV - ABC late 60s. Show: Where the Action IS

Song: Ticket to Ride covered by Paul Revere and the Raiders. It was awesome in their colonial costumes riding away on a stage coach.

Billy Don't Lose That Number-Phil Collins

You Can't Hurry Love-Phil Collins

shawke -> RE: The Classic Rock Video Thread (8/16/2008 11:31:57 AM)

Another great Phil Collins video is I Wish it Would Rain Down. It includes Eric Clapton on guitar.

humbleinspirit -> RE: The Classic Rock Video Thread (8/16/2008 11:34:31 AM)

Now, I didn't know that Eric Clapton played on that track at all. There are many, many good videos, however I keep on forgetting what they are when I come back to this thread though. Oh, here are 2 more:

Twilight Zone-Golden Earring

Rio-Duran Duran

Giggles56 -> RE: The Classic Rock Video Thread (8/16/2008 1:44:47 PM)

Collective Soul - The World I know and Needs. Basically, They could do no wrong. I love them.

humbleinspirit -> RE: The Classic Rock Video Thread (8/16/2008 1:47:29 PM)

I still think that Degarmo and Key's Hallelujah, Christ Is Coming is a real classic! Six, Six, Six by them is quite good too!

Also, Meltdown (At Madame Tussaud's)-Steve Taylor is a real gem too!

Greetings,

I was always a big fan of Uriah Heep – for example…Sunrise - Live 1973

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gShe87qWeBw

And Gary Thanes style of bass inspired me back when I was kid, and still play the same today, …..Some times when I kick it....it scares the heck of some of the Christian brothers in the band...but I never was into that wrist cutting music to begin with, and never will be!!! [:D]

But then again there are a few by Sarah Mclachlan that rock also

I saw Uriah Heep when they opened for Def Leppard in the early 80's. Unfortunatley, they were well past their prime at that point. I like what they did in the 70's, though. The Lillith Fair stuff...not so much. [;)]

Greetings,

Yea Uriah lost the punch IMO and went down the tubes when they tossed out Thain… to bad… the guy got corrupted at an early age…. I hope he found the Lord through the mishaps….before he kicked it.

Wow I just noticed that Lilith stuff…. never knew that, I just like the music ....and she was about 30 years to late anyhow... actually it seems the late sixties early seventies with the birth of the UE is when the music culture paralleled a closer match to what is written in Daniel 3:-5-7, whereas the Lilith fair is just the result of the seed planted thirty years before [;)]

...but let me ask you....where did you come with the Hollies ...”man!.
That was way back there....LOL!!

They sounded like the first electric country rock band out of the 50s.... [:D]
