This is my favorite cover of a Hendrix tune: Little Wing--Derek and the Dominos.

Sweet!

I love what Jimi does here. Awesome tone, plaintive vibe, the total outthereness (is that a word?) of the whole sound.

That Vai was great, had bit of rattle little like Deep Purple (what ever happened to him?)
and (what’s with the guy in the suit?) Night Job?

Steve Vai is still around, still making his bread playing. Nothing on the radio, that I know of though.

The guy in the suit is Graham Bonnet. He also played with Richie Blackmore's Rainbow.

Greetings,

Graham Bonnet OK ...that voice sounded familiar.....

Dad remember KROKUS - Screaming In The Night

Here's a classic song being done by them...the classic version really stinks! This one is done very well
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eEnE5DHrJkE

Actually, towards the end of the video kinda reminds me of the craziness surrounding my conversion

Here's my favorite Boston song. Ok, so it's NOT really Boston. It's Barry Goudreau and Brad Delp, and I can't find a download for it anywhere. It was a staple of FM radio back in the early 80s.

Here's a fun one to close out the night:

Adrian Belew -- Oh Daddy

I had totally forgotten that song.

Right on! I thinks it's cool the way you can hear Zeppelin's influence on Rush's early recordings like this one.

I was thinking of Pat Benatar earlier. That's one of the best ones!

You know those songs that give you that weird nostalgia feeling? Isn't It Time by the Babys does that to me. I'm not even sure why. Something I can't remember from back then must have cemented this song in my mind.

Great song. The Babys is one of those chick-rock bands that still rock. Here's my favorite:

Great song. I really loved that video when it came out. Always thought it was cool that he let his daughter be in it. I have that album on vinyl - I'll have to get it out and give it a spin!

I'm completely Off Topic with this one...It's neither hard rock nor from the designated time period. It will give you a glimpse of what my family considers both fun and funny, though. Enjoy!

That was strange, bizarre, and totally weird. I loved it!

That song does have a cool groove!

I don't remember if I posted this before. It's a piece of history. George Harrison singing a scratch vocal of It Don't Come Easy. I always suspected he wrote the whole thing for Ringo; this is more evidence.

Here is my favorite song that Rod Stewart was associated with: Stay With Me. Another crank to 11 tune.

And we gotta have Beck's Bolero!
